Fans Slam McGregor & Paul’s Training Footage – ‘What Has Become Of This Sport’

Fans have reacted negatively to Conor McGregor and Logan Paul’s latest training footage.
Reports indicate a deal is in place for the pair to box in an exhibition in India. It is alleged that there is a $500 million pound pot, with both fighters receiving an equal split of $250 million. That is enough to get any fighter into the ring, even if they may not be in the best shape. McGregor has not had a UFC fight since 2021, when Dustin Poirier defeated him in the first round. The Irishman broke his leg as he suffered his third defeat out of his last four UFC fights.
He struggled to return from that injury, as he pulled out of his UFC 303 fight against Michael Chandler with a broken toe. There were suggestions that McGregor could fight Dan Hooker after The Notorious said a deal was in place to fight him on February 1. But that does not look like happening, as McGregor’s focus is on Paul. The following footage shows McGregor doing some take-down drills, saying he has a good ground-and-pound game. However, fans were not convinced by the suggestions as he looked a lot slower than usual.

Logan’s Training
Logan also shared training footage of him in the boxing gym as he hit the heavy bag. Logan has more boxing experience than McGregor, having had four fights. He faced KSI two times, Mayweather and Dillon Danis. But Logan’s focus has recently been on WWE. McGregor’s only boxing fight was in 2017 against Floyd Mayweather when the latter stopped him in the 10th round. That could give Logan an advantage. But the following training shows him hitting the heavy bag very slowly, with fans unconvinced.

McGregor’s Future
The outcome of this fight may decide McGregor’s future. There are suggestions that he may not return to the UFC after he was found liable in a sexual assault civil lawsuit. However, McGregor still has two fights left on his UFC deal, meaning that any exit will be difficult. That means McGregor’s hopes of fighting in the BKFC or further boxing fights will be tough. Eddie Alvarez, who has faced McGregor, revealed just how difficult the Irishman will find things.
“Realistically, I think he still has two fights left on his UFC contract. I just know how difficult it is, especially when you’re that valuable to a company. I haven’t been as valuable as Conor, but back when I was basically Bellator’s main guy, I know how difficult it is to get out of those contracts.
“They don’t make it easy. For him, making the company hundreds of millions of dollars, I don’t think it’s going to be an easy exit. I think he still has two more fights with the UFC, and I’m not sure how old Conor is, but he’s not getting any younger. So it’s going to be tough for him to fight those fights out and move onto another contract,” Alvarez said
