Fans Slam Fury For Pulling Out Of Till Fight – ‘Completely Bottled It’
Fans have ripped Tommy Fury after he pulled out of his boxing fight with Darren Till.
The fight was set to go ahead on January 18 from Manchester on an MF & DAZN: X Series 20 Misfits card. It would have been Fury’s first fight in over a year since beating KSI. The win followed after his split decision victory against Jake Paul. However, Fury’s progress was hindered after he underwent surgery on his right hand. Fury has also been going through problems in his personal life.
He recently split from his long-term partner, Molly Mae, as they share a daughter. Fury’s withdrawal came after he expressed concerns for his safety. Till had made comments that he would use MMA tactics if he were losing the fight. Dillon Danis did this when he faced Logan Paul. However, Danis failed to pull off his choke attempt. Nate Diaz also put Jake Paul in a little chokehold when he was losing his bout. Fury responded to Till’s comments by saying he was moving on.
Tommy Reacts
“I can’t believe I’m writing this but I am now not fighting Darren Till on January 18th 2025. For the one simple reason being that Darren has stated over and over that he does not want to abide by professional boxing rules and that if he is losing the fight he will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics.
“I am a professional boxer, I have been out of the ring for over a year and I wanted this to be a great BOXING fight for the fans. I have wasted weeks in training camp. We are working hard to get a new opponent and date. I promise to get a better opponent and better fight for you guys. Good news around the corner,” Fury said
Nevertheless, it is important to bear in mind the following. Team Fury has a history of crossing the line. John Fury threw a table during the build-up to Tommy’s fight with KSI. He also took aim at KSI, punching a glass wall that was separating the pair. John also created controversy when he headbutted a member of Oleksandr Usyk’s entourage. This was during the build-up for the Tyson Fury Undisputed Heavyweight Championship fight.
Till Responds
John later apologized, but the fact it appeared non-confrontational drew mass criticism. John Fury also threw a bottle at Till during the kick-off presser for the fight with Tommy. Fans responded by demanding that John be banned from press conferences. Following Tommy’s withdrawal, Till has now had his say. He was surprised by Fury’s withdrawal, saying his comments were not meant to be taken literally.
“For years the Furys have bullied people at press conferences. Fury head butted people from Usyk’s team, he punched glass when he was fighting KSI, he’s tried to intimidate everyone, and it worked up until now. But as I said, it was never going to work with me, and I bullied them at the press conference
“Now John was leaving the press conference saying they were pulling out because of my tactics that I was saying I was going to use. It’s all mental warfare, I don’t need to kick Tommy Fury in the head to beat him. I was going to absolutely box his head off and knock him flat out. You’s have showed you his true colors. Fighting family, my arse,” Till said
