Fans Rip Jon Jones For Hanging Out With Ryan Garcia – ‘Utter Disgrace’
Jon Jones was spotted hanging out with Ryan Garcia, raising a strong reaction.
Garcia is currently suspended from boxing after testing positive for Ostarine following his win over Devin Haney. His year ban means he cannot box until April 2025, while the Haney result became a no-contest. Garica has since then found himself in trouble with the law. He was arrested for reportedly causing $15,000 worth of damage at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Beverly Hills.
Meanwhile, the WBC banned him following derogatory comments towards Christians, Muslims and African Americans on social media. Jones will have his hearing after claims he threatened to kill a drug testing officer at his house while he was drunk, something which he has denied.
Jones And Garcia
Bones will face Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, meaning he must keep himself out of harm’s way. Spending time with Garcia may not be the wisest move, given everything that has happened to the boxer. And yet, the following clip shows the pair singing Ryan’s song ‘I’m Blessed.’ Garcia even jokes that he would try to hit him with his left hook.
White reacted to the incident after a reporter mentioned it. He was not pleased to hear of it.
“Oh they’re out tonight? I hope that’s not true. Listen, Jon promised me tonight that he’s gonna be good while he’s in Las Vegas, so,” White said
Jones’ laid-back attitude suggests that he is towards the end of his career. Miocic will retire after facing Jones, while there is speculation Bones could do the same. This is despite the increasing pressure on him to fight Tom Aspinall. Aspinall has a title shot next after beating Curtis Blaydes in his last fight at UFC 304.
Jones And Pereira
Jones is reluctant to fight him by claiming his legacy is already complete. He has also stated that a fight with UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira is much bigger. Jones has since then confirmed that the Miocic bout will be his last one. As for Pereira, they met each other at UFC 306 to see Sean O’Malley headline against Merab Dvalishvili. After a cordial meeting, Pereira indicated his willingness to train with Jones even if they do not fight.
“I think there’s some good time, his fight is only in November. There’s always something coming off a fight, a small injury, so we can get some rest and then train together. A lot of people talk about this superfight but I think I have to make the most of this guy’s experience. “He has a ton of experience, but people are talking about him maybe doing only one or two fights more, and I’m not even at heavyweight yet. I don’t know if that’s possible, but I want to at least be training with him,” Pereira said
Jones may divide public opinion for his troubles outside of the Octagon. But there is no denying that his UFC record speaks for itself even if he does not fight Aspinall.
