Fans React To Wladimir Klitschko Sparring Footage – ‘This Is Impressive’

Wladimir Klitschko shared some sparring footage, raising questions over whether he would make a comeback to boxing.
For years, Klitschko has been open about his obsession with George Foreman’s historic feat. In 1994, the 45-year-old Foreman shocked the world by knocking out Michael Moorer to become the oldest heavyweight champion in history.
Now approaching his 50th birthday in March, Klitschko is in a position to break that record. His manager, Tom Loeffler, recently noted that “if anyone can do it, it’s Wladimir,” citing the Ukrainian’s dedication. Klitschko retired in 2017 after getting stopped by Anthony Joshua.
While that may be the case, he keeps himself in shape by sparring regularly. The video shows the 49-year-old moving well, working combinations against Ukrainian heavyweight prospect Dmytro Lovchynskyi. The timing has many convinced that Klitschko is eyeing the record.
The Sparring
“Wladimir said he would fight for a title and break George Foreman’s record so we will see. He’s 48, 49 in March. If anyone can do it, Wladimir can do it. Naturally he’s not going to fight Usyk. He has an open cheque with Fury. But we’ll see how things shake out for Wladimir. I’d like to see him back in the ring,” Loeffler said
Klitschko has made it clear he will never fight his fellow countryman Oleksandr Usyk. With Usyk recently vacating the WBO title to focus on other pursuits, Fabio Wardley has been elevated to full champion status. Wardley is currently seeking an opponent for an April 2026 defense—a slot that could perfectly suit a Klitschko return.
Tyson Fury, the man who ended Klitschko’s 9-year reign in 2015, recently announced his own 2026 comeback. A long-delayed rematch between the two remains one of the most lucrative “unfinished business” stories in the sport. Whether this is just a workout or the start of a goal to break the record books remains to be seen.
