Fans React To Fury’s Bizarre Media Workout – ‘Nervous Energy’

Fans have reacted to Tyson Fury’s media workout for the Oleksandr Usyk rematch on December 21.
The fight is a rerun of their first clash, which Usyk won by a split decision. The win made him the first Undisputed Heavyweight Champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999. The fight was competitive in parts before Usyk pulled away with a decisive ninth-round knockdown. Fury refused to accept the result. In his post-fight comments, he felt the Russia-Ukraine war influenced the judging. Fury maintained his position even after having rewatched the fight. However, the Gypsy King did come to terms with the loss by vowing to get a knockout. Fury looks heavier than the first fight, meaning he may try to impose his size on Usyk.
Usyk knows he has the chance to remove any small doubts over the first result with a win. The fight is not for undisputed after he vacated the IBF title following the Fury win. But Usyk is not short of motivation, as he aspires to continue boxing after the Fury fight. But if Fury gets a win, the trilogy is likely next. Usyk did some shadow boxing in front of his fans. But Fury simply got in the ring, took his gloves off before saying a few words. His actions may have been a sign of nerves or that he is very focused. Fury’s trainer SugarHill Steward was confident.
Pre-Fight
“It’s only talk. We will see. Whatever happens is God’s will. I don’t feel too heavy, I don’t feel too light. I feel perfect. My team and I have a few secrets for Saturday. This is a big opportunity for me, for my country, and for the young people that look up to me and Tyson. This is history! I want people 15 years later to remember when I fought and beat Tyson Fury twice in Riyadh,” Usyk said
“I’m the only show in town. It’s the biggest event of my life, so in that regard it’s pretty much the same. From one biggest event to the next biggest event. I’m looking forward to putting on a show as always. I’m going to knock him out. [And] I’m going to give Turki what I promised him in May, a cooked rabbit in his kitchen. That’s my promise,” Fury stated
Workouts
“[Expect] A lot of pain. Smash and damage. A lot of hurt. Hurt, serious hurt. A lot of damage,” Fury
“It was a little workout. We gave it our best. Tyson Fury is just ready right now, along with myself. He’s always had a silly demeanour and playing around, but this is a different side of him. He’s just ready, 100% ready. It’s how we normally train and how I was taught from Emanuel Steward. It’s always hurt somebody, pain and knockouts. It was always written on the walls at the Kronk Gym. The harder you work, the bigger the reward,” Steward
