Fans React To Crawford & Bivol Sighting

Fans reacted after Terence Crawford was spotted alongside Dmitry Bivol at an IBA boxing event in Dubai.

Crawford is currently out injured until at least May, as the Saudis confirmed that he has a slight health issue. He has not had a boxing bout since beating Israil Madramov in August in his first fight at junior middleweight. The victory made him a four-weight world champion, and Crawford took a step closer to unifying at 154 pounds. However, Bud has been chasing a lucrative fight with Canelo Alvarez. That would require him to jump up two weight classes to super middleweight.

The Mexican has had mixed comments about that fight. He initially rejected the idea, claiming that he would get no credit for beating someone who was ultimately a 147 fighter. However, Canelo has since said that he would be open to it if the terms were right. He also confirmed that he would be willing to speak with the Saudis about fighting in the kingdom next year. He also admitted that a Jake Paul fight did cross his mind.

“I never say no to business. So if it’s business for me, I’m open to talk, no matter what. I feel sad about what I saw from Mike Tyson because, at his age and everything, he can’t do that kind of stuff. But, you know, it’s business for them. It’s fine, whatever. … I thought about [getting revenge for Tyson] when I saw the fight, when I saw the injustice. But we’ll see. I’m in my thing,” Canelo said

The Saudis are determined to make the Crawford-Canelo fight, leaving the door open for it. Bivol is well aware of Canelo after having beaten him in their only clash. He outboxed Canelo to win a unanimous decision to retain his WBA Light Heavyweight Title. Bivol has other things to focus on. He will run things back with Artur Beterbiev. Bivol lost a controversial majority decision to Beterbiev, as the latter became the Undisputed Light Heavyweight Champion.

Now, they will run things back on February 22. Fans reacted to the pair sitting next to each other, with suggestions that Crawford may have been getting advice from Bivol over how to beat Canelo. The same could be said with Bivol if Crawford gave him a few words about how he could do better in the Beterbiev bout. Bivol has spoken previously about Crawford, as he praised the fighter.

“I remember when I came to the boxing gym one of the first lessons I learnt was you should respect weight classes. But Terence is one of my favourite active fighters. He has good skills, very good skills, maybe he could show us something. He knows already what to do, his coach knows, they will find a solution how to do it. I could tell you that Crawford is one of the best fighters in the world right now. I see him with more boxing IQ,” Bivol stated
