Fans React As Fury Appears Down On His 36th Birthday

Fans have reacted to Tyson Fury looking down on his 36th birthday.

Fury has plenty to celebrate, given his accomplishments in life. The Gypsy King has won every belt possible at heavyweight. He completed the set when he picked up Deontay Wilder’s WBC belt. It was a remarkable feat, having been out of the ring for a prolonged period with mental health and substance abuse issues. Fury’s story has been an example from which millions can draw inspiration.

However, he did suffer the first loss of his career against Oleksandr Usyk in his last bout. It was the biggest fight of Fury’s career, but he lost a split decision, as Usyk became the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion. Fury was visibly upset, claiming Usyk only got the decision due to Ukraine’s war with Russia. He was then seen getting thrown out of a bar in Morecambe for being drunk.

Fury’s Bipolar

Now, the latest footage shows Tyson looking far from happy. The following footage shows the Fury family celebrating as they sing him happy birthday. The camera pans to Fury, who looks downbeat. There may be many reasons for this. Tyson has been vocal about his struggles with bipolar. The condition can result in mood changes, which are thought to deal with. Frank Warren referred to this when Fury was criticized for saying Usyk only won due to the Russia-Ukraine war.

“You don’t know the background, you don’t know the man. I’ve cringed at some of the things he’s said from time to time, but I know what goes down and how it is [with his condition]. So I’m going to have a row with someone I’m very close to? Because it would be a row because he doesn’t want to do it. You think I’m going to go into battle with talkSPORT? No, I’m not,” Warren said

Fury may also never be the same fighter. He struggled to accept the loss, even saying he rewatched the fight and felt Usyk was an amateur boxer. The Gypsy King knows a second loss will increase the calls on him to retire from the sport. Fury also risks his legacy, knowing he would not be the best of his era if he could not avenge the Usyk loss.

Fury’s Retirement

There is also a worry that Tyson will struggle to adjust once he gives up boxing. At 36, he is at the tail-end of his career. His former opponent, Derek Chisora, has shown the dangers that can happen if boxers fight too long. Chisora has shown little signs of possible CTE as the boxers recently came off a win against Joe Joyce. Fury admitted that he will find it tough to walk away from boxing.

“I’m probably at the end of my career in the next few years. It’s been a love-hate relationship. It’s been toxic at times. When it’s good, it’s very good, and when it’s bad, it’s very toxic. So I’m in that relationship and I don’t just abandon things.

“I try and make things work and that’s where we are at the minute. We’ve been in this romantic relationship since I can remember, since I was a child, and now I am a fully grown adult with a family of my own. It’s like, ‘Do I abandon it, or do I not?’ I wanted to walk away a lot of times but it always drags me back,” Fury said
