Light heavyweight Joshua Buatsi boxes Zach Parker at 175 this weekend, as boxing pros picked their winner.

Buatsi looks to rebound from the first defeat of his professional career in his first outing under the Queensberry Promotions banner, havging lost to Callum Smith in February. That unanimous decision defeat was arguably the biggest fight on his resume and cost him his perfect record. Now, the Olympic bronze medalist is fighting to prove that the loss was a momentary setback. Wins over Dan Azeez and Craig Richards have shown he can beat British opposition.

Meanwhile, Parker enters the contest with considerable momentum in the 175-pound division. Since moving up to light heavyweight in 2022, he has been on a tear. He has strung together four consecutive victories, beating Khalid Graidia, Tyron Zeuge, Jack Arnfield, and Mickael Diallo. This showdown against Buatsi represents a golden opportunity for Parker to land the signature win.

Pre-Fight

“I ended up signing with Queensberry and now I have signed to fight Parker next. What I would do differently… is better to show you than tell you. I hope it is something that can happen again. I would love to fight Smith again and the first fight was exciting enough and competitive enough fight where I left knowing that I could have won. So, it’s something that if it were to happen again, I would be open to,” Buatsi said

“I need to beat him. I’m not in boxing to come in to make the numbers up. I need to beat him. I want to do it in a good fashion, as well. Like I say, we’re probably the top two in Britain, just behind Callum Smith, who’s knocking at the door of these big titles. And I don’t want to just go in there and try and scrape through a win. I need to put on a show, and show people what I’m all about. I feel like people have not even seen 30 per cent of me. I need to go out and do it in good fashion,” Parker stated
