Fans Demand John Fury Ban After Brawl With Darren Till
Fans have called for John Fury to be banned after he started a brawl with Darren Till during his son Tommy Fury’s kick-off presser for their upcoming fight.
The pair face off on January 18 in Manchester on an MF & DAZN: X Series 20 Misfits card. Fury makes his return to the ring after having undergone surgery on his right hand. He enters the ring with a victory against KSI. The result divided the boxing community after Fury was given a decision win, with some feeling KSI had done enough to win. The victory followed Fury’s win over Jake Paul, giving the latter his first loss.
Fury Vs. Till
Till has his second boxing fight after having faced Mohammad Mutie in Dubai. That fight ended with a brawl as Till was given a win after Mutie could not continue. Mutie said he was not fit to continue after receiving a series of rabbit punches to the head. But rather than it being a no-contest, Till got the win. Till has transitioned into boxing following his UFC career. His last UFC fight was in 2022 when he was second best to Dricus Du Plessis. That was his fourth loss in a row, as he now prepares for his biggest boxing fight.
John Fury has been criticized for his roles at press conferences of late. He infamously headbutted a member of Oleksandr Usyk’s entourage during fight week. His son, Tyson Fury, was preparing for the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship. John Fury was heavily criticized after it seemed unprovoked because he was unhappy that a member of team Usyk’s entourage was cheering on their Ukrainian fighter. John Fury would later apologize. He also flipped a table in the presser when Tommy took on KSI. A brawl broke out during that presser, too, and security had to intervene.
John Fury Reacts
But it appears that he has not learned from his actions. The following video clip shows him getting into a back-and-forth with Till. John Fury was unhappy after Till referred to a sparring session between him and Fury, saying he had treated Tommy ‘like a baby.’ John Fury called Till ‘pig eyes,’ telling the former UFC fighter to keep his son’s name out of his mouth. He then threw a water bottle at Till. They were separated by security, as there was a danger of a brawl kicking off.
“If I’m losing that fight. “I’ll just kick you straight in your face. You won’t know what’s hit you. “Then I’ll win because I’m a proper fighter. You’re a boxer. I don’t walk into rooms — I don’t walk in a room like this and see boxers and go. I walk in, no one in here is a threat to me. Not one person in this room — security, you, your dad, are not a threat to me. I’m an MMA fighter, so if I want to kick you or elbow you in the face, I will. And no one can do anything about it. How about that?” Till
“Listen, kick me straight in the face. Well, that’s it — it’s going to be a proper fight then, isn’t it?” Fury
