Edwards Vs. Brady Predictions – ‘He’s An Absolute Tank’

Leon Edwards takes on Sean Brady at UFC London this weekend as MMA insiders gave their predictions.
Edwards is the former UFC Welterweight Champion, who lost his belt to Belal Muhammad at UFC 304 in his last fight. He was dominated in a one-sided unanimous decision loss. Prior to the fight, Edwards had been on an undefeated 13-fight win streak. Edwards was meant to face Jack Della Maddalena in his next fight. However, the latter was given the chance to face Muhammad for the title at UFC 315, as Brady got his shot. Brady has back-to-back wins following his only loss to Muhammad at UFC 280. He submitted Kelvin Gastelum and then beat Gilbert Burns to take his record to 17-1. Here is how the MMA fighters saw the fight playing out.
Edwards Vs. Brady
“Oh, I feel like Belal showed that Leon has trouble with people that pressure him and try to wrestle, so I got Sean for that one,” Geof Neal
“Yeah. Really, really tough. Especially, you know, I fought Leon’s brother, and obviously, Leon has been the UFC champ and is an amazing competitor. But Shawn Brady has really good grappling, a very well overall fighter in all respects, so man, it’s gonna be a really interesting fight. Obviously, you would think Sean’s gonna try to get the fight to the ground, and Leon wants to stand and try to knock him out. If I had to give my prediction, I mean, going into it, I think Leon, but you could definitely make a case for Shawn going out and doing kind of what Belal Muhammad did to him too,” Austin Vanderford
“Oh man, that’s a tough one because you got a man, Leon Edwards, who’s such a great striker, good takedown defense, he’s well calculated, but he’s got to dig deep. His corner got to obviously push him on that end. But if this new Shawn Brady comes, the one that got beat by Belal, that humbled him, sharpened him up, and only made his ground game stronger, if that one shows up, that’s the one that’s going to really make noise. So if I had to pick, if it was a life-or-death situation, it’d be Brady,” Chepe Mariscal
More Predictions
“I’ve actually been fortunate enough, I got to train briefly with Shawn. I feel like he’s an absolute tank and a hammer, and he’s a tough matchup for Leon. Leon struggled with grapplers in Belal and Kamaru, and Shawn is a grappler of the highest order. Probably has more subbing ability than both those guys that I said earlier, so I think Sean gets it done. He’s always in great shape, he’s always ready to go, so I think he gets it done, and honestly, I think he probably beats Belal eventually for the belt. I think that fight where he lost, it was a younger Shawn Brady, and I think he’s the future of that division,” Cody Brundage
“Oh man, I want Leon Edwards to get back to the Leon Edwards that we all know. And I think the fight when he fought Belal, after that fight, people tend to forget about him. Like, we just forgot about Leon Edwards and what he was able to do against one of the all-time great welterweights to ever fight in the UFC, which is Kamaru Usman. But not only that, but before that fight, the win streak that Leon Edwards was on—was it like a 12-fight win streak or something like that? I like Sean Brady, and he does have wrestling. That’s my only thing, he does have a strong wrestling background, kind of like Belal. But I would like to see Leon Edwards go out there and get back on top,” Elijah Smith
