Dustin Poirier And Michael Chandler To Star In ‘Road House 2’
Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler will appear in the ‘Road House 2’ sequel alongside Jake Gyllenhaal.
The film follows up on the 2024 release, which featured Conor McGregor, as the rivals put aside their differences to join forces in the movie screens. Poirier beat Chandler at UFC 281 in 2022, as the pair were constantly linked with a rematch amongst the bad rivalry. However, Dustin retired after losing to Max Holloway in their trilogy at UFC 315 in July.
Meanwhile, Chandler suffered a defeat to Paddy Pimblett at UFC 314 in April in his last fight. There are a whole host of other MMA fighters, who will feature such as Michael ‘Venom’ Page, Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson, Tyron Woodley, Rico Verhoeven and Jay Hieron. The plot has not been disclosed nor the release date, but it has already gotten fans talking.
The Pressure
The film has a lot to live up to. Deadline previously revealed that the first film brought in 50 million viewers from across the globe during the first two weeks the film was released on March 21, 2024. In doing so, it became Amazon MGM Studios’ most-viewed project ever. McGregor was awarded for his role, becoming the highest-earning actor on any debut film, with reports he pocketed between $5-10 million.
