Dubois Wants Winner Of Usyk Vs. Fury

Daniel Dubois is looking to face the winner of Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury for the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship.
Dubois is the IBF Heavyweight Champion, a belt he inherited after Usyk vacated. However, Dubois showed his world-level credentials by knocking out Anthony Joshua in his last fight to solidify himself as a heavyweight champion. He dropped Joshua three times on his way to stopping him in the fifth round. Dubois is set to defend his title against Joseph Parker on February 22. Parker is going to be a very difficult opponent. The heavyweight is coming off two victories against big-name opposition.
He defeated Deontay Wilder in a unanimous decision, giving The Bronze Bomber only one round across all three scorecards. He then followed it up with a victory against Zhilei Zhang, getting off the canvas twice to secure a majority decision win. Parker is also the former WBO Heavyweight Champion, a belt he lost against Anthony Joshua. Dubois was in talks to face Joshua in the rematch, but those talks never got anywhere, as the attention has turned towards Parker. If Dubois comes out victorious, he wants to take the undisputed shot.
Dubois Reacts
“I want that next and I know I deserve that because I beat AJ. I put him to sleep, and I’m that guy now. They got to fight me. It’s going to be a good fight. It’s going to be a real war. He’s going to come and try and take my head off, and I’ll do the same thing. Let’s see. I’m ready to go, though,” Dubois said
Nevertheless, that depends on how the Usyk and Fury result plays out. The Saudis have already indicated that they want to make a trilogy fight. Fury is also on board with doing that. But that is dependent on if Fury comes out with a victory. He lost the first fight via a split decision, as Usyk became undisputed, the first man to do so since Lennox Lewis in 1999. The belts would become fragmented if Usyk were to win and then retire from the sport.
Parker’s Aim
Alternatively, the Ukrainian could do that by moving down to cruiserweight. Usyk has suggested he could drop back down. He was the former undisputed champion there, and that is his natural weight class. Dubois also cannot overlook Parker. The pressure is on Dubois to follow up on the Joshua performance. Meanwhile, Parker has revelled in his role as the underdog. Dubois, coming off a big win, will fancy himself to come out victorious. But Parker is also targeting the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship, meaning plenty is on the line.
“Joseph wants to become undisputed heavyweight world champion. He’s going to give it everything until the day he retires so I’d be lying if I didn’t say that was the goal. He wants to beat Dubois and then he wants to fight whoever has the other belts and try and unify,” David Higgins (Parker’s opponent) said
