Dirty Boxing Championship: Boynazarov Destroys Belo With Superman Punch

Mike Perry’s Dirty Boxing Championship created waves after Anvar Boynazarov knocked out Thiago Belo with a Superman punch.

Perry announced his promotional company in the run-up to his fight with Jake Paul. Perry was knocked out by Paul in the sixth-round with Conor McGregor later saying Mike was fired from BKFC. This raised question marks over whether or not Perry’s future in BKFC was up. Dirty Boxing Championship was launched alongside ex-Karate Combat executive Adam Kovacs and Josh McLean (Kanpai Media). It was made with the intent of having a mixture of fighting rules and combinations of striking. Participants would use five-ounce gloves, and there would be restrictions over how much fighters could use ground-and-pounds.

Perry’s Aim

“This promotion has been in the works for over a year, and we started this because of my success in bare-knuckle. I feel there that are many great fighters and athletes out there that would like to compete in something like this but don’t exactly want to compete in bare-knuckle and take the gloves off. There are a couple names that come to mind,” Perry said

“I think this rule set is going to be the most exciting thing for the casual fan base that’s been put together,” McLean said

By the looks of it, the promotional company has made some noise. Boynazarov faced Belo in a 145-pound clash. He stopped his man with a superman punch near the end of the second round. His opponent hit the canvas, with the fight immediately being over. Boynazarov took his MMA record to 5-4. He has competed across various organizations, even featuring on Dana White’s Contender Series three years ago.

Unfortunately, he came up short, losing to Erik Silva in the first round. Much more recently, he stopped Marlon Gonzales in the first round on a Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA 7 show. Boynazarov has an MMA record of 5-4, which also includes an appearance on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2022, where he suffered a first-round stoppage loss to Erik Silva. The 35-year-old, however, picked up a 13-second knockout win in March at Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA event.

As for Perry, there are questions over his next move. Jake Paul did entertain the idea of facing Perry in MMA. The Problem Child has yet to make his PFL debut. However, it is expected to take place next year. Several names have been mentioned for his opponent. Tommy Fury, Tyron Woodley and Nate Diaz are just some of those names. Perry does not have a fight lined up, giving him an incentive to make that happen. It also exposes his Dirty Boxing Championship to a wider audience if he could do a co-promotion with the PFL. However, the primary focus will be on expanding his brand, and Boynazarov’s knockout will go some way towards doing that.
