Dillon Danis Recalls Having Suicidal Thoughts After His Knee Injuries

In today’s MMA/boxing headlines, Dillon Danis has opened up on how he considered committing suicide following his knee injuries that could have threatened his career for good.
The MMA fighter is currently getting prepared to face Logan Paul on October 14th, 2023, in his boxing debut. The fight will be the biggest payday of Danis’ career in a fight that will define his recent verbal shots against Paul after his criticism of Nina Agdal (Paul’s fiancée).
But before that was even a possibility, Danis did face a career-threatening injury. Danis has not been in a competitive fight since he faced Max Humphrey at Bellator 222.
Thereafter, those knee injuries kept him out of action. But now that he has had some time to heal, Danis looked back at the most difficult period of his career.
Danis On His Suicidal Thoughts
“No, but it got to the point where I didn’t know if I was going to be alive again. There’s a lot of people with a lot more problems than me…you go from training, being so good, and then just sitting there in a cast, can’t move, don’t know if you’re ever going to be the same…twice in the same year…you get into a dark place. You start drinking, you do bad things…and then all you do is just drink all day,” Danis said
Despite this being the case, Danis’ recent conduct towards Agdal has been criticized. His social media posts, albeit designed to get under Paul’s skin, have resulted in Agdal suffering from distress.
In response, the latter has resorted to getting a restraining order to prevent him from posting such things, as well as suing him.
Danis’ Criticism
“I can’t be the only one who thinks Dillon Danis is corny as f*** for harassing the f*** out of a woman for absolutely no reason. Talk s*** to the person you’re fighting, not his fiancé. Also someone tell him to stop sending and unsending messages to me and my friends, you look so desperate my guy,” Corinna Kopf
That has resulted in people within the social media sphere to hit out at Danis, but the latter does not seem fazed by the backlash coming his way.
After all, Danis’ following has grown exponentially since their fight had been announced. Prior to the feud with Paul and Agdal, Danis had a relatively small social media following.
But now that this fight has been made, Danis’ following has grown so much that he is close to accumulating a 1 million followers on X, formerly known as Twitter.
While that will not do anything to help Danis win the fight, it will keep the MMA fighter relevant even if he does come out second best to Paul.
And there is no getting away from that. Therefore, the only way to silence his doubters would be to get a win over Paul. So can he do it? Time will tell how it all transpires moving forward.
