Diaz Questions McGregor’s USADA Absence, Paul Vs. Diaz Breaks Records And More

Nate Diaz has given his take on Conor McGregor’s failure to enroll in USADA.
There was an expectation that McGregor would make a return to the octagon this year, with Michael Chandler being the most likely opponent.
Although that may have been the case, the chances of that happening appear slim. McGregor has not entered the USADA testing pool, which requires athletes to submit two negative samples over a sixth-month period.
While there is a possibility to get around that if an exemption was granted, Diaz questioned McGregor’s behavior over the whole process.
Diaz On McGregor
“I’m ready to see him get back and do something cool too. I don’t know if that (Chandler) fight’s gonna happen, I don’t know…He’s not gonna fight, or is he? Maybe, and then they let him do sh*t whenever he wants.
“So it’d be cool if he got back in there though and handled some sh*t, that’d be tight. No one else – not a lot of people are doing much in there, so it’s cool when people do better sh*t, different sh*t,” Diaz
If McGregor were to make his comeback, then there is a chance of a trilogy between him and Diaz.
The duo first faced each other in 2016 at UFC 196, as McGregor lost via a submission. In the rematch at UFC 202, McGregor won via a majority decision. With that being said, there are plenty of reasons to see a McGregor return.
Paul On Beating Diaz In MMA
Jake Paul is adamant he can secure a win over Nate Diaz in an MMA bout.
The ‘Problem Child’ secured a unanimous-decision win over Diaz, who was making his boxing debut.
In the post-fight comments, Paul expressed his wish to run things back in an MMA bout. This included a reported $10 million offer for Diaz to make it happen. The latter was receptive to it, as Diaz suggested either a boxing match or an MMA fight.
“Right now we’re going to go home and we’re going to talk about it, and we’re going to figure out whether we want to do MMA or boxing, and then we’ll see what they want to do.
“They said they wanted to do the PFL thing, and I think that if we want to do that, we’re going to have to co-promote and do Real Fight vs. PFL, and I’m with that. But my goal is to get a rematch in any art
“We’re going to see what happens with him, see if he really wants to do that. If not, I’ll be back in this hunting him down too. Either way is fine with me,” Diaz
But even if Paul did come out victorious, he admitted that he may not get the credit that he deserved.

“They’ll say it’s rigged. They’ll say he got paid to take a dive because they won’t even believe it. I’m going to show them the impossible and prove to the kids out there that you can do anything if you’re crazy enough,” Paul said
Paul Vs. Diaz Breaks Records
Regardless of what ends up happening, Paul and Diaz have managed to create history in their own way.
According to reports, the fight between the two became the second-highest event that resulted in bets being made, according to the DraftKings Sportsbook.
This is understandable since the fight was hard to call even if Paul was the favorite. This was on the grounds that Paul’s loss to Tommy Fury left question marks over whether or not he could bounce back, even if Diaz was making his pro-boxing debut.
Although Paul did win as expected, the fact of the matter is that Diaz went the distance. This may have gotten a few people a winning bet, as there was an expectation that Diaz could get stopped.
And yet, the fight was eclipsed in terms of betting when it came to Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia.
The bout saw each other face off in a lightweight clash in April, as Davis stopped Garcia with a seventh-round body shot.
However, given the huge crossover audience that Garcia brought due to his social media and acting background, it became the highest grossing pay-per-view event, as well as having the highest gate this year.
And naturally that would have resulted in many people putting on a bet.
Reaction
Jake Paul-Nate Diaz was the second-most heavily bet boxing match (most bets and money) in the history of @DKSportsbook (behind only Davis-Garcia April 2023).
Paul-Diaz attracted more than 2x as many bets as the entire six-fight card of Saturday's UFC 291 at @BetMGM sportsbooks.

Ultimately, Paul has managed to dictate his career on his own terms. And for someone who only took up boxing three years ago, his efforts should be commended.
Not only is Paul putting on the biggest events, but he is giving fighters the opportunity to earn career-high paydays. And as long as he does that, Paul will continue to remain relevant. And there is no getting away from that.
