Devin Haney Vs. Regis Prograis Post-Fight Presser

Devin Haney and Regis Prograis held their post-fight press conference following their junior welterweight clash.

Haney eased his way to a unanimous decision win to grab Prograis’ WBC belt. The victory earned him the accolade of becoming a two-weight world champion. The boxer won every round to win a shutout on the scorecards: 120-107, 120-107 and 120-107.

The performance showed a new side to Haney’s game as his power transcended to 140. He dropped Prograis in the third round with a straight right hand. The same shot sent Prograis backwards in the sixth, showing that Haney’s lack of KOs prior may have been due to the challenging weight cut at 135.

As for Regis, the knockout artist failed to cut off the ring. He landed just 36 punches in the whole fight, which set a record for the lowest number landed in a 12-round bout.

Following the defeat, Prograis indicated his desire to fight for the other belts. As of now, Teofimo Lopez, Subriel Matias and Rolando Romero possess them outside of Haney. But at the age of 34, getting those fights will be tough. Once the dust had settled down somewhat, this is what both fighters had to say in their post-fight presser.
