Darren Till Wants To Box Nate Diaz - 'He's A G'

Darren Till is targeting a boxing fight with Nate Diaz following his win over Mohammad Mutie

Till had his first-ever boxing fight in Dubai, UAE, at the Social Knockout 3 card. While Till secured a victory, the manner was very controversial. In round two of the fight, Till was accused of rabbit punching. Mutie responded by complaining to the referee before going to the canvas.

The fight was waived off, giving Till a victory via a second-round TKO. That did not sit well with Mutie, who responded by kicking out at Till. Then, the two camps engaged in a brawl, while Till threw a left hand in response. The incident took Till by surprise. Although the UFC fighter apologized for what happened, he recognized that he had to defend himself.

Till’s Win

“This is fighting, you get hit. If you don’t wanna continue fighting, don’t be a fighter. He’s not a fighter. He’s not a real fighter. [And] he’s a coward. And then, when I’m minding my own business, he comes and attacks me.I’m so sorry. I’m not that guy.[And] I’m a respectful guy. I love this sport. l love Dubai. I’ve been coming here since 2016 so I do want to apologize but I was standing there minding my own business and he came over to attack me with his team. I’ve got to defend myself. I’m really sorry about that guys,” Till said

Now, Till is targeting Diaz. Diaz beat Gamebread in a rematch fo their UFC 244 fight. Masvidal won the UFC clash in 2019 to become the first BMF Champion. However, Masvidal lost a majority decision, leaving him with plenty of questions. Masvidal threw and landed more punches but came up short. Gamebread felt that the home crowd swayed the judges, giving Diaz an unfair advantage. He has called for a trilogy fight, while Diaz switches his focus towards rematches with Jake Paul and Leon Edwards

“I definitely know the judges were influenced by the crowd because a lot of those shots were landing in the corner. I was just getting my timing. He’d throw three or four shots that wouldn’t land, and then I’d throw a good power shot. I’d see that I’d hurt him and I’d back him up or he would start goofing around. (I) hurt him to the body numerous times,” Masvidal said

Till’s Next Move

That is why Till is ready to step in. He was on course to face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. He had agreed a deal to face him on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson card that was set for July 20. The fight was pulled after Tyson withdrew after suffering from an inflamed ulcer. Meanwhile, Chavez will now take on Uriah Hall. Now, Till wants Diaz.

“I did [watch it], but I wasn’t impressed mate. Just fluffy hands, not a lot of power. Both looked like they weren’t in good physical shape. But, as I said, Masvidal fought and beat me. But, Diaz, I don’t like to diss Diaz too much, I’ve always been a fan since I’ve been a kid.

“He’s a…g of the sport, and one of the real ones. Whether you want it in the ring, or outside, he’s that guy and that’s what I respect. I wasn’t overly thrilled with the fight, but at the end of the day Nate is still a big fight. I would love to get that fight,” Till stated
