Darren Till Stops Anthony Taylor In Explosive Misfits Debut

Darren Till secured a win on his Misfits debut, stopping Anthony Taylor in the sixth round.
The fight took place at Misfits 20 in a heavyweight clash. Till was meant to box Tommy Fury, only for the latter to pull out. Fury withdrew after taking Till’s comments to heart, where he claimed that he would resort to MMA if he were losing. While Till was adamant that he was joking, Fury did not see it like that. Taylor stepped in, hoping to cause an upset. Till could have come unstuck since the fight happened on short notice. But it was clear that Till was better from the off.
In the opening couple of rounds, Till’s footwork and size were causing Taylor problems. Taylor was struggling to land as Till made him pay. Till started timing Taylor with his uppercuts; one such uppercut buzzed Taylor, who resorted to clinching before falling over in round three. While the referee ruled that a push, Till continued to put Taylor on the back foot.
Till’s KO
In the fourth round, Till went after Taylor again. He dropped him with an uppercut. Although Taylor managed to beat the count, he was fighting defensively for the rest of the round. Till looked for the finish in round five. But Taylor remained resolute, even landing some shots which caused blood to pour from Till’s nose. But Taylor’s resistance came to an end in round six. It was another uppercut which dropped Taylor. While he got up from the floor, Till connected with a combination to end the fight. Till called out Jorge Masvidal and Mike Perry. Meanwhile, Taylor vowed to bounce back.
“I’ve been in the boxing gym two years and it’s all coming together. I was out the ring two years because no one wanted to fight me but Anthony stepped up,” Till said
“Now we know why Tommy fury pulled out. It’s all good G, motherf***a took an L, I’ll be back, I don’t give a [damn]. “Still the light heavyweight champ…I’m all good. Thank you for all the love and support. Everybody who is also making fun of me, I don’t give a [damn]. At the end of the day, you can’t spell GOAT without AT, I’ll be back,” Taylor stated
“We knew the weight was going to be a big advantage for Darren as well but he said ‘No, I can do it, I want this fight’ and he got the main event. It’s boxing at the end of the day and we’ll see AT back, he needs to have a rest, a holiday, I’m going to give him a private bonus of my own for stepping up,” Mams Taylor (Misfits Boxing President)
