Dana White Supports UFC And WWE Crossover Fights - 'Would Absolutely Do It'

Dana White is entirely behind UFC fighters crossing over into WWE.

The merger between WWE and the UFC to form TKO Group Holdings Inc. has made that a real possibility. Netflix also has a ten-year deal worth $5 billion to air Monday Night RAW starting next year, increasing the potential for major crossover bouts. A big part of the potential crossover has been helped by White’s good relationship with Vince McMahon. The two were reportedly not on good terms when the rivalry between the WWE and the UFC was heating up. White addressed this previously, stating that Vince wanted to fight him.

White vs. McMahon

“Vince wanted to fight me—swear to God. He called me up, said, ‘Let’s do it. We can do it in the UFC, or let’s do it at WrestleMania.’ And I said, ‘You are crazy,” White stated

They have come a long way since then, with White crediting Vince for getting the UFC a deal with the Saudis to host their first card in the region, which takes place on June 22.

“My history with Vince isn’t a good one. He tried to…[get] me so many times for no reason whatsoever except just to [get] me. But that’s in the past. Now that Vince and I are allies, no one’s been a better partner than Vince. Since day one of the deal, it’s like I’m dealing with a different guy. It goes to show that when you oppose him, or he thinks you are opposing him, the guy comes after you blindly. Once you are aligned, Vince is an incredible partner.

“We’ve probably spoken on the phone 20 times since the dea. It’s all added-value conversation–with Vince doing work and raising the bar for both companies. … Vince McMahon, man, he’s an absolute savage. Even with the stuff that went down with us in the past, I respect it. I love killers. He’s definitely a killer. He’s the Michael Jordan of the business world,” White revealed

“It was Vince McMahon [who arranged UFC’s Saudi deal]. It was 100 percent Vince McMahon. He made every call. He didn’t make one move without picking up the phone and calling me and getting me in the loop and seeing if I was cool with this and that. And he went from being, oddly enough, I don’t know why, an enemy [of UFC’s], to being an unbelievable, incredible partner,” White said

White Reacts

Fans have already seen UFC fighters at WWE events. Michael Chandler was spotted on Monday Night Raw calling out Conor McGregor for a fight before it became official. That helped to hype up the interest, with reports that the live gate is already over $20 million. Since there is still over a month to go before the fight takes place, those numbers were impressive. White envisages this only getting better moving forward.

“Listen, some of the fighters who fight here have always dreamed about a WWE match or whatever it is. I don’t have a problem with that. I didn’t have a problem with that when (former WWE CEO) Vince (McMahon) was..[getting] me for no reason. And now that that’s not the case anymore, I, obviously, would absolutely do it,” White revealed
