Dana White Slams FlyFrontier For Khabib’s Removal – ‘That’s How Dumb They Are’

Dana White has slammed FlyFrontier for throwing Khabib Nurmagomedov off their plane. 

Khabib caused quite a stir after a disagreement broke out over his seating arrangements. Nurmagomedov was seated next to an emergency exit. This required him to help out if an emergency arose. The former UFC Lightweight Champion seems more than capable based on his MMA career. He retired undefeated with a 29-0 record, making him one of the best UFC fighters ever.

But he found a hard time winning this ‘fight’. There were suggestions that Khabib’s English was not good enough to carry out the instructions in an emergency. Khabib was asked to move from his seat. He was then told a supervisor would be called if he did not comply. Khabib was clear that he understood what was required in an emergency. But the situation did not resolve itself, as he left the plane. FlyFrontier denied claims their decision was based on Khabib’s ethnicity. 

“Videos circulating on social media platforms do not capture this interaction, and instead show a subsequent interaction after a gate agent entered the plane and reiterated the option to be reseated. As a result of the customer’s initial unresponsiveness and repeated declinations of a seat change, he was asked to deplane per airline and FAA policy. The decision to deplane the customer was in no way related to his ethnicity and we have refunded him and his traveling companions for their flights,” FlyFrontier said 

White On Khabib

While Nurmagomedov got another flight, it was not the ideal preparation for him. He will be in Islam Makhachev’s corner this weekend ahead of his UFC 311 defense against Arman Tsarukyan. He helped Islam beat Dustin Poirier in his last fight at UFC 302. Islam submitted Poirier in the final round to retain his UFC Lightweight Title. Khabib is on record saying that coaching is tough. Incidents like this will remind him of that. Now, White has defended Khabib. He could not understand the airline’s actions and also questioned why the Russian would take that flight when he had plenty of money. 

“What the [hell] is he doing on Frontier Airlines anyway? This kid’s got more money than anybody but that’s how humble he is. He’s flying on that piece of [rubbish] airline. I don’t know what you have to do to get kicked off Frontier Airlines. Listen, Khabib doesn’t fight anymore because he’s got [loads] of money. I’ve got to teach Khabib how to charter a plane, especially if you’re just going from Vegas to San Francisco.

“That’s how dumb they are on Frontier Airlines. If there’s anybody you want in that position, it’s Khabib Nurmagomedov. Good job, Frontier Airlines. Not only did [I] pay him, after he won the Conor McGregor fight, he went on like the Muslim world tour and Saudi Arabia rained on him, Abu Dhabi rained on him, Qatar rained on him. [Vladimir] Putin rained on him. Khabib shouldn’t even know what the [hell] Frontier Airlines is just like most people don’t. He’s got plenty of money,” White said
