Dana White Rules Out Jake Paul Vs. Alex Pereira – ‘Don’t Even Think’
Dana White has dismissed the idea of Jake Paul boxing Alex Pereira.
Paul called out Pereira after he stopped Mike Perry in the sixth round. The win took Paul’s record to 10-0-1. He will face Mike Tyson next on November 15 but wanted Pereira after the Brazilian expressed his desire to have a boxing fight. Paul remains undefeated against UFC fighters, beating Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren and Nate Diaz. White and Paul have not been on the best of terms. Paul has criticized White for not paying UFC fighters enough. Meanwhile, White hit back at the Problem Child by accusing him of being on steroids. That would always make any cooperation unlikely, as White’s following comments confirmed.
White Reacts
“I haven’t even talked to Perry in a long time and I didn’t even know Jake Paul was fighting. I was on vacation in Italy, I had no idea. There’s all these stories that were written, it’s ridiculous. I stopped paying attention to Jake Paul when he lost to Fury, you know what I mean. It’s like when he fought somebody that was his age and actually boxed, he lost and I’m not [hating] on the kid, I don’t even think about him anymore.
“It doesn’t even cross my mind. I have no beef with him. ‘They’re trying to get me assassinated’. Nobody’s trying to get you assassinated especially, listen, I respect Perry. Smaller, older, I mean it’s the same blueprint that they’re fighting older, smaller guys that, it’s just I literally don’t even think about him anymore. It’s all [rubbish],” White said
However, the pair agree on their support for Donald Trump. Trump and White have been on good terms for a prolonged period. During the UFC’s earlier rise, Trump helped stage some events with venues in Atlantic City. Meanwhile, White also recalled shutting down a sponsor who wanted him to remove a video from his social media which showed support for Trump. Trump has also been seen at numerous UFC events.
Paul On Trump
The latest appearance came at UFC 302 when Islam Makhachev defeated Dustin Poirier via a fifth-round submission. White also spoke at the Republican National Convention three times in 2016, 2020 and this year. White heaped praise on Trump after the former President showed defiance in escaping an assassination attempt. He then endorsed Trump for his presidential run. Paul also reacted positively by urging voters to put their support behind Trump.
“We need Trump to knockout all his opponents on Election Day to save America from more unnecessary wars, the woke agenda, and preserving freedom of speech. When you try and kill God’s angels and saviors of the world it just makes them bigger. Good beats evil every time. I pray for peace and prosperity for the world and I believe Trump gives us the best chance at that. He kept us out of wars. Hundreds of thousands of innocent people have died in Ukraine and Gaza. We need Trump,” Paul stated
