Dana White Reacts To McGregor’s Drunk Live Stream; Fans Respond – ‘Conor Is Done’
Fans have reacted to Dana White for his comments towards Conor McGregor appearing drunk on a live stream.
The Irishman was partnering with a betting company called Duelbits during the stream. McGregor’s behavior appeared very much out of character. He was seen drinking his Forged Irish Stout brand, smoking what appeared to be some marijuana from Mike Tyson’s brand, and firing verbal shots against several fighters. McGregor hit out at UFC Featherweight Champion Ilia Topuria, saying he would slap him. He called out the featherweight champion, stating he would be at a BKFC event, urging him to turn up.
McGregor also criticized UFC Welterweight Champion Belal Muhammad’s fighting style, claiming that he wanted to take that fight at some point in the future. He then had a few words to say about Jake Paul’s fight with Mike Tyson. The pair face off on November 15 in the first boxing fight broadcast live on Netflix. While McGregor plans on fighting early next year, as per Dana White, his behavior suggests otherwise.
McGregor’s Stream
The Irishman has not had a UFC fight since losing to Dustin Poirier in 2021 at UFC 264. He suffered a broken leg, taking his record to three losses out of his last four UFC fights. He was scheduled to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303 on June 29. But The Notorious withdrew from the fight after breaking his toe.
Chandler has since then moved on as he will rematch Charles Oliveira at UFC 309. McGregor has two fights left on his UFC deal, but there is no guarantee that he will come back. This is especially true if he fails to keep discipline outside the sport. And yet, White claimed that he still felt McGregor would fight next year. Meanwhile, McGregor also had the same sentiment.
White Responds
“Well number one I didn’t see it, I didn’t see the livestream. Number two, I had said Conor wasn’t fighting until 2025, it is October 1 of 2024. Conor McGregor has plenty of time. I am going to go with 2025. 2025,” White
“It will be 2025, we will see. My opponent that we got scheduled got matched. It is what it is. My job is to just go to the gym, be in the gym, be in shape. One thing is for sure, whenever it is and wherever it is I will be 100 percent ready. That is all I can focus on… I must, I must, I must. It’s the promised lands, so we’ll see… I’d like it to be Chandler, I’d like to get that squared away. I wish him well against Oliveira but let’s see how it goes,” McGregor
McGregor has several other opportunities outside of the UFC. He has been linked with a boxing fight against Manny Pacquiao and previously called out by Jake Paul. The Irishman has also suggested that he would like to take on Canelo Alvarez, criticizing the Mexican’s flat footwork. The Notorious also has ambitions of fighting in the BKFC once his UFC career is over.
He even teased the idea of having a barek-nuckle fight with the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion Oleksandr Usyk. Although McGregor has big plans for moving forward, his fighting career has stalled. A large part of that has not been helped by the fact that the Irishman does not need to fight. He has financially secured his future. He is on course to become a billionaire with his ventures outside of the sport. However, fans were not convinced by White’s statement that he would be back next year.
