Dana White Praises Donald Trump – ‘The Most Resilient Human I’ve Ever Met’
Dana White praised Donald Trump, stating he is one of the most strong-willed men he has met.
White and Trump have been on good terms for some time. Trump had been critical in helping the UFC during the early parts of its inception with venues in Atlantic City at the Trump Taj Mahal. Since then, White has supported Trump publicly with his political ambitions. He spoke at the Republican National Convention three times in 2016, 2020 and this year. The RNC this year was even more crucial following the assassination attempt on Trump.
The former UFC President had been speaking at a campaign rally in front of his supporters in Pennsylvania. Shots were fired as Trump took cover. He had some blood near his ear but managed to survive the ordeal, as White praised his bravery. White has previously denied suggestions that he is heavily-politically inclined.
White Praises Trump
This is despite his support for Trump for the upcoming election. He simply felt that Trump was better qualified rather than the Democratic candidate, Kamala Harris. In doing so, the UFC CEO shut down claims that the UFC favours the Republican Party, stating they would have treated any former US President the same at UFC events. Based on what White has seen, he had nothing but respect for Trump.
“He showed up for the first fight and stayed till the last fight for both events. He’s a guy who would reach out to me my entire career when good things happen and say, ‘Hey, congratulations. I always knew you were going to do it. Number one, White said when discussing where Trump ranks as the greatest fighter ever. “You take any of the greatest fighters of all-time, Trump is No. 1. The most resilient human being that I’ve ever met in my life,” White said
Trump is a massive fan of the UFC, having attended numerous attempts. His last appearance was at UFC 302 when Islam Makhachev took on Dustin Poirier. Islam submitted Poirier in the last round to retain his UFC Lightweight Title. Since then, Trump has praised Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier.
Trump On UFC Fighters
He was spotted speaking with Khabib at UFC 302 after the Russian urged him to end the Israel-Palestine war. Trump referred to Khabib as the GOAT and lauded his record. The ex-US President also praised Poirier despite his defeat. He described ‘The Diamond’ as a warrior who is considering whether he will retire from the sport.
“Oh he’s great, boy I’ll tell you he’s a warrior. Whether you like him or not, he’s a warrior. No, he didn’t lose that fight. He really, man, his fight was tough. He was tough and I didn’t expect that same fight. [Poirier] makes people suffer, there’s no question about that. He’s a pro, he’s a professional.
“As that fight went along, he just got stronger and stronger. He was getting pounded and was going to be choked out four different times and he just wouldn’t let it happen. Man, he’s good, he’s a really great fighter,” Trump said
