Dana White Offers $25K For UFC 306 ‘Easter Eggs’
Dana White has offered one fan a chance to win $25,000 if they discover ‘easter eggs’ during the UFC 306 card on September 14.
Sean O’Malley will defend his UFC Bantamweight Title against Merab Dvalishvili. Suga has the privilege to headline the first ever fight at The Sphere in history. The card is sponsored by Riyadh Season, as $17 million has been spent at the very least. White has built the card up by stating it would be the ‘greatest live sporting event of all time.’ There is plenty of pressure. The card will go against Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga, who face off in a super middleweight boxing clash.
The UFC has good projections for the card, possibly breaking the UFC 205 live gate record set by Eddie Alvarez vs. Conor McGregor, which produced $17.7 million. However, reports indicate ticket prices were reduced after failing to sell out. Tickets ranged from $3,000 to $12,000. But since then, the lowest ticket price was available for under $800. That could result in further sales, as White wants to create an event to remember. And now, he has offered a cash prize to pique the interest of fans.
White’s Plans
“There’s movies, there’s chapters. Each chapter starts before the next fight. So there will be a show open, then the first movie will run and it will end at the end of the fight. Then — we call them ‘worlds’ and the fight will live inside this world. And the world will evolve while the fights are going on, but it will be very subtle.
“Clouds will move, fires will burn, birds will fly, or whatever the hell is going on in that time, and it will slowly evolve during the fight. There are also going to be Easter eggs in each one of these films. We’re working it out with legal right now, but what I want to do, if somebody can find all the Easter eggs, I’ll give you $25,000,” White said
Elsewhere, the UFC’s impact is having a positive influence on other combat sports organizations. White says the WWE’s improvement in production has been down to the UFC. Following the UFC and WWE’s merger last year to form TKO Group Holdings Inc., fans were teased with future crossover appearances. The UFC has began this process.
White’s Influence
Michael Chandler made a surprise appearance at Monday Night Raw, calling out Conor McGregor, as he hinted at a possible crossover fight in the future. There have also been changes behind the scenes. Executive Kevin Dunn left his role, as ESPN executive Lee Fitting filled in. The WWE has been praised for its camera angles and production. When White was asked if the UFC could do something similar, he revealed that members from the UFC implemented those changes.
“Don’t you find it weird that we got involved in WWE not too long ago, and now they’re experimenting with that. Our production team has a lot of influence over what’s going on,” White said
