Dana White Dismisses Dillon Danis' UFC Prospects

Dana White has ruled out Dillon Danis fighting in the UFC anytime soon.

The MMA fighter made his intention of fighting in the UFC very clear following his fight with Logan Paul. Danis was making his boxing debut in a fight that failed to resonate with the boxing fan base despite the huge build-up.

The former had created a lot of controversy by trolling Paul’s fiancée, Nina Agdal, by posting pictures of her, which suggested she had a high body count. At the press conference, both fighters threw objects at each other as the build-up became violent.

Paul threw a PRIME bottle, which resulted in Danis throwing a microphone back, which cut Paul’s eye. All of that resulted in Danis’ social media following going over 1 million on X, even if he was disqualified in the fight after attempting MMA moves. Thereafter, Danis spoke about his desire to fight in the UFC due to the fact that he had shown he was capable of selling big events.

Danis On White

“Everybody wants to see me in the UFC. People think that I just did a boxing match, that my jiu-jitsu isn’t on a different level. I’ll fight Islam [Makhachev] first fight. I’ll fight any of them first fight, I swear. At the end of the day, if I lose, I lose. I could do 155 or 170.

“[Holland] an easy fight. Give me a warmup. This is too easy. He has no takedown defense and I think I’d submit him in the first round. It wasn’t going to happen anyway. I didn’t want to be in Bellator, they’re a bunch of bums anyway. I want to fight the best in the world [in the UFC],” Danis stated

Despite this being the case, White has dismissed Danis from returning. The CEO of the UFC made it clear that Danis’ actions were not compatible with the UFC’s brand. When Danis was disqualified, the MMA fighter made it clear that he would attempt to appeal the decision. And at a time when the conduct left a bad taste in the mouth, White distanced himself from Danis.

White Responds

“The other thing with him is, and I have no beef with the kid at all, I’ve probably said two words to him in my whole life. But every time he’s around, shit’s going down. We can’t have that stuff going on here. A lot of people will see when guys get into it on stage or something starts to happen, they’re like oh, they must love this or whatever.

“No. No, we don’t love it. We don’t need that shit to sell fights. It’s our job to keep that shit under control. That’s why when you see these other events with these guys and everything breaks out like that, it’s a f*****g. Total unprofessional clown show,” White stated

Those words ultimately summed up Danis’ decision to retire from combat sports after a fight that earned him around $1 million. While Danis may not get the UFC return that he was hoping for, he certainly left an impression on the boxing fans.
