Dana White Desperate To Bring Crawford Back – ‘I Might Give Him A Call’

Dana White is pushing to coax Terence Crawford out of retirement in light of Zuffa Boxing’s launch on January 23.
Crawford officially hung up his gloves on December 16, 2025, following a career-defining victory over Saul Alvarez. In that September 13, 2025 clash—which served as the inaugural Zuffa Boxing/Riyadh Season co-promotion—Crawford won a unanimous decision and become the first male fighter in history to be a three-weight undisputed champion (at 140, 147, and 168 lbs).
White, who has frequently praised Crawford as the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet, has made no secret of his desire to bring the Omaha native back for at least one more massive event. A Zuffa-backed return would likely have to involve a mega offer.

Crawford reportedly earned $50 million for the Canelo fight, meaning anything would have to at least match that. Bud also stated that he had nothing to prove when he announced his retirement. He left with a 42-0 and as a five-weight world champion. White, however, remains hopeful something can be done.
“One hundred percent, he’s an all-time great. He decided to retire. I think he should be out there fighting everybody. After seeing the masterpiece he put on that night, he’s so good and talented. I actually like him. He’s a great guy. We’ll put on some fights here, see how things play out. And I might give him a call in the next six to seven months,” White said

By retiring immediately after defeating Canelo, he avoided the “one fight too many” trap that has tarnished the legacies of other fighters like Roy Jones Jr. At 38 years old, Crawford’s reflexes and chin are still elite, but the physical toll of 17 years in the ring is cumulative. Leaving now allows him to go down as arguably the greatest P4P fighter of the four-belt era without ever having been officially knocked down.

Dana White and Turki Alalshikh (Riyadh Season) represent a financial force never before seen in boxing. A return offer could realistically reach the $100 million mark, a figure that would secure generational wealth beyond his already substantial earnings. If Zuffa Boxing offers a “Super Fight” against Jaron “Boots” Ennis or a legacy-defining jump to a sixth weight class against someone like Janibek Alimkhanuly, the record-breaking money and a historic sixth division title might be too significant to ignore.
