Dan Hooker Floors IShowSpeed In Brutal Sparring
Dan Hooker sent IShowSpeed to the canvas during a sparring session.
Hooker is on a great run of form, having beaten Mateusz Gamrot in his last fight at UFC 305. That extended his win streak to three in a row. It was a major turnaround in form, having lost two on the bounce before that to Islam Makhachev and Arnold Allen. As he waits for his next fight, Hooker has been keeping himself busy in training. He had some sparring with the streamer, who recently called out Jake Paul. IShowSpeed, who is 19, has engaged in various sports. He has been seen horse riding, playing soccer, and now taken an interest in boxing.
He followed in the footsteps of other streamers to have tried this. Adin Ross was infamously hit by Jake Paul to the body, which sent him to the floor. Sneako was also beaten during a one-sided sparring session with Sean Strickland. Now, IShowSpeed felt the brunt of it. The following clip shows him hitting the canvas after Hooker launches numerous strikes. However, IShowSpeed showed a lot of heart for getting back up and continuing.

But outside of that, Hooker will be looking to get back to fighting as soon as possible. Conor McGregor recently stated that he would be fighting Hooker on February 1 in an event in Saudi Arabia. That is a huge stage since it would be the Kingdom’s second UFC fight following the bout featuring Robert Whittaker and Ikram Aliskerov this year. However, the UFC did not confirm this date, leaving speculation as to whether it will happen. Hooker admitted that talks were ongoing as he hoped that he would get that fight.
“It’s a fight that makes a lot of sense for him and makes a lot of sense for me and we’re, obviously, both keen on the fight. I don’t know what’s going on with him behind the scenes. I don’t know what’s going on with him and the UFC and their relationship so that’s all I can say. Since that rumor started going around, people are like, ‘don’t wait, don’t be another Michael Chandler’. That’s not the plan. I’m fighting early next year. I told the UFC either January or March and it will be someone in the top five or Conor McGregor. That will be who I’ll be stepping inside the cage with come January or March next year,” Hooker said

However, since those initial statements, there has been a widespread change in circumstances. McGregor has been found liable for a 2018 civil lawsuit over sexual assault allegations. The Irishman has been ordered to pay approximately $258,440 to Nikita Ni Lamhain. McGregor does intend to appeal the decision. If McGregor goes ahead with the appeal, that will extend the process further. Dana White recently stated that he expects McGregor to fight later in 2025. But that was before the findings of the civil lawsuit. The CEO of the UFC has not responded to McGregor’s lawsuit findings just yet, meaning that fans have been left none the wiser. But in the meantime, Hooker does not appear to be downbeat. He praised IShowSpeed’s courage.
