Crawford Would Stop Mayweather – Says Bradley

Tim Bradley has backed Terence Crawford in a hypothetical fight against Floyd Mayweather. 

Crawford created history to become the first undisputed welterweight champion of the four-belt era by stopping Errol Spence.

As a result, Bud became undisputed in two-weight divisions to go down as one of the best fighters of all time.

The feat was something that Floyd Mayweather could not achieve, despite ‘TBE’ being undefeated and recognised as one of best. But if they ever were in the same era, Bradley backed Crawford to come out victorious. 

Bradley’s Comments

“Terence Crawford would beat a prime Mayweather. I said this five years ago. I’m telling you, he would beat him  It’s nothing against Floyd.

“Floyd is one of my favorite fighters of all time. He’s a fantastic fighter. He would be Crawford’s toughest opponent but I just think he would have enough to beat Floyd. Crawford would win a close decision,” Bradley

Such a fight would throw up an interesting dynamic. Could Crawford penetrate Mayweather’s shoulder roll and his ability to neutralize his opponents best weapons?

However, Crawford’s ability to switch stances and make adjustments on the fly would equal things out. That is in addition to Crawford’s 100 percent stoppage rate at welterweight, something which Mayweather did not have. 

However, when it comes to outside of the ring, there is only one winner. ‘TBE’ has earned over a reported $1 billion and counting since his career started.

Although that did not impact his ring performance, it showed that Mayweather bought the power back to boxers, while taking on the biggest promoters in the process.

And that is something that should be commended in a sport where fighters are not always compensated for their efforts in a manner that they see fitting. 

“A lot of time people say, ‘Oh, Floyd have to do exhibitions. My philosophy is never stop getting it (money). Currency over legacy. Currency over legacy.” Believe me, if I don’t ever do another exhibition in my life, I can live a great life,” Mayweather said
