Crawford Will Be Ready To Face Canelo At 168 – Says Bomac
Terence Crawford will be in prime condition to fight Canelo Alvarez at 168 pounds.
That is according to the fighter’s trainer, Brian McIntyre. The talk over a fight between the two has been growing ever since Crawford mentioned the idea of the fight at a catchweight of 158 pounds.
Although that may have been the case, the Mexican dismissed the idea on the grounds that he had not made a weight below 160 for so long.
The last time that this occurred was all the way in 2019 when he beat Daniel Jacobs. As a result, Crawford switched things up by stating that he would be happy to do a fight at 168.
And given that Bomac was praised for getting Crawford ready for Errol Spence Jr, he has backed his fighter to be ready again. After all, Crawford did drop Spence three times before stopping him in the ninth round.

“Moving to 168, Bud kind of walks around at that weight or close to that weight. So, I don’t see nothing wrong with fighting up there. Bud i one of those guys that likes to challenge himself.
“We’ll do what we’ll always do. We’ll go to the classroom, pick him [Canelo] apart. We’ll pick his a** apart, and we’ll take what we know in the classroom and put it in the gym so we can come out victorious,” Bomac said
Outside of that, there is also the chance of Crawford facing Jermell Charlo at 154. However, if the latter does end up beating Canelo, then that fight could equally take place at 168 pounds. And there is no getting away from that.
“Yeah, [Jermell] Charlo at 154. Terence said he’d like to be undisputed in that weight class [junior middleweight], and plus, he wants to fight Charlo bad. I wouldn’t see anything bad about going after Charlo,” Bomac
Crawford is chasing history by aiming to become undisputed in a third weight class. And if he manages to do that, then he will arguably be one of the best of all time.
