Crawford Opens Up On A Potential Wrestling Career

Terence Crawford addressed suggestions that he could pursue a career in wrestling.

Crawford prepares to face Israil Madrimov on August 3 in a WBA Junior Middleweight Title clash. Bud knows a win makes him a four-division champion and solidifies his legacy as an all-time great. At 36, Crawford is at the latter end of his career as he chases the biggest fights. He could pursue a unification at 154 against Sabastian Fundora.

Fundora holds the WBO and WBC belts. Another option is to pursue a fight with Canelo Alvarez at 168. But Crawford has shown that he has many talents outside of the ring. He is an accomplished wrestler. The following clip shows him taking down friends with ease, which explains Crawford’s ability to shake off much bigger opponents.

Crawford Reacts

Bud also attended a WWE Friday Night SmackDown card featuring Cody Rhodes. The videos below shows Crawford helping Rhodes with a chair as he took on Grayson Waller. Crawford then appeared in the ring as he knocked out Austin Theory. While he enjoyed the experience, Crawford was unsure if he would pursue such a career.

“I don’t know. I haven’t really got into it that far, but just saying that the experience was second to none, I must say. It was electrifying. I was actually nervous doing it. It was different. Like, alright, I’m going to give him this chair. Go hit this dude with it. It was dope, just because not only was it in my hometown but it was live on WWE and that’s a big thing. That’s a big platform. There’s going to be 100 percent injury rate that you’re going to get hurt at some point.’ I was just like, ‘Damn,” Crawford said

Crawford And Hearn

Outside of wrestling, Crawford also showed off his other talents. He got involved in a heated interaction with Eddie Hearn. Hearn represents Madrimov, as he backed his fighter to beat Bud. Things then got personal as Crawford stated he could beat Hearn at anything. He simply referred to Hearn as being a better talker. Eddie fired back, stating that he is a better darts player.

The two then agreed to have a game. Hearn is well aware of the sport since he oversees darts as part of Matchroom. Naturally, he would expect to be the favorite. But when they faced off, it was Crawford who was the better player. With just his second attempt at a double, Crawford came out victorious. He has plenty of talents to pursue regardless of what Crawford does after his boxing career. Hearn had no choice but to concede that the better man beat him.

“I don’t know when the footage is coming out but I have to apologise to my country, to the PDC and to the world of darts for losing to some geezer from Omaha. He’s actually quite good, as well. I was unlucky but then he got to the double first and I was thinking, ‘how long is it going to take to hit a double?’ Second dart, straight in. Fair play. The sad matter of the fact is that the only thing that I am better at him at is talking, and that is it,” Crawford revealed
