Conor McGregor Found Liable For Sexual Assault
The jury said Conor McGregor must pay Nikita Ni Lamhain around $258,440 after the Irishman was found to have sexually assaulted the claimant.
McGregor was facing a civil lawsuit over sexual assault allegations, which he denied. However, according to Ni Lamhain, McGregor and his friend James Lawrence had sex with her without getting her consent. The incident was alleged to have happened in a hotel room in Dublin in 2018. It was claimed that Lamhain was intoxicated. She would end up filing a lawsuit three years later in 2021. She was requesting damages for psychological and emotional distress, amounting to $1.79-$2.13 million. The Irishman testified against those claims, making it clear that they were lies.
However, Lamhain doubled down on her views that she had been a victim. The decision was made in favor of Lamhain. The following footage shows her reading her statement outside of court. Meanwhile, McGregor exited the courtroom without answering any questions. The Irishman has since then put a statement out on social media, saying that he will appeal the decision. The news will no doubt impact McGregor’s wider perception. He is looking to make his UFC comeback, having not fought since his 2021 loss to Dustin Poirier.
