Colby Covington Slammed For Choking Out Lil Pump Against His Will - 'That's Attempted Murder'

Fans have reacted to UFC fighter Colby Covington’s controversial sparring with rapper Lil Pump as he choked him out.

Covington is one of the most controversial fighters in the UFC based on his recent behavior. During his build-up to his last fight at UFC 296 against Leon Edwards, he vowed to send the former UFC Welterweight Champion to hell, claiming that is where his father was.

Covington’s Controversies

“I’m bringing you to the seventh layer of hell. We’ll say ‘what’s up’ to your dad while we’re there. 1776 baby, this is the American revolution. General Washington started it, general Covington ends it,” Covington stated

Edwards responded by throwing a water bottle at him as the two men faced off in the octagon. Covington was unable to back up his words as he lost a one-sided unanimous decision. After his defeat, he disclosed that he injured his foot in the first round, with many people calling out his excuses.

Covington also directed his anger at Dustin Poirier. He recalled an interaction with The Diamond at a restaurant, stating that he accosted him face to face. He then claimed that Poirier refused to do anything, which Dustin denied. That increased the narrative for creating a fight. But Dustin responded that he would never fight Covington, as he does not want the fighter to make a living off his name.

“You can talk big to the media, you can talk big in front of a camera, but when you’re in front of someone’s face and you feel their energy and you know what they’re capable of, that’s when it’s a different story. Now you can’t run your mouth, now you can’t do anything. If you wanted to do something, he could have done something. I stood up, I looked him right in the eyes and he walked right out of the restaurant like a good little [man]” Covington said

“I’ll never fight Colby in an Octagon where there’s finances on the line. If I fight Colby, we’re both going to jail. He’s not making money off my career and what I’ve done. You will never see me fight Colby Covington in the UFC,” Poirier said

Covington And Lil Pump

Covington also recently teamed up with Vitali Zdorovetskiy, the streamer known for catching alleged child predators. Lil Pump was also present. The following clip shows Colby throwing a body shot at the alleged predator, something which could have caused serious injury.

This time Covington showed a different side to his personality. The following video shows him sparring with Lil Pump. He got a rapper in a headlock after which the rapper indicated his desire to tap. But rather than listen to what he was saying, Covington went ahead and fully choked out his man. That raised a lot of controversy, especially since he could have hurt the rapper if there had been one wrong move. Many MMA fans called out the UFC fighter for engaging in such dangerous behavior.
