Chisora Vs. Wallin Predictions - 'He Is A War Horse'

Derek Chisora faces Otto Wallin this weekend in a heavyweight clash, as boxing insiders gave their predictions.

Chisora is coming off one of the best wins of his career. He defeated Joe Joyce via a unanimous decision in front of a packed-out domestic crowd. That was his second consecutive win after losing to Tyson Fury in 2023. Chisora has said he will retire after his 50th fight, meaning he is looking for the most lucrative and challenging fights. His current record stands at 35-13, as he has racked up 48 fights.

Wallin’s record stands at 27-2. His only two losses have come against elite-level opposition. He lost a decision to Tyson Fury in a fight which arguably could have been stopped since the Gypsy King was bleeding heavily. Wallin’s only other loss came against Anthony Joshua. He suffered a stoppage loss as he was forced to quit on the stool. Since the Joshua loss, he has bounced back with a win over Onoriode Ehwarieme. Here are the predictions from the boxing world.

Chisora Vs. Wallin

“I don’t think it’s a bad fight. I think it’s a very tough fight for Derek, because I know when I worked with Derek, he said he’d kill me if I put him in for southpaw. And I did it once against Artur Szpilka and he battered him. So, you know, Wallin has got a win recently, I think, but he’s coming off a win, but obviously he got broken down by AJ. Tough night for Derek, but hopefully he can do the business,” Eddie Hearn

“Yeah, it’s a tricky one. It is, I may be ever so slightly lean towards Del, just because I think he’s going to give absolutely everything. And he’s so dangerous with those looping lefts and rights. But Wallin, I guess, compared to some other heavyweights out there, is probably not going to cause too much damage. He’s more of a boxer as opposed to a fighter, so he’s not got to worry about huge bombs raining in relentlessly throughout the fight. So it could be a smart bit of matchmaking,” Darren Barker

More Predictions

“It depends what Otto Wallin has left. I know we talk about Derek, but we’ve got to see what Otto Wallin has got left. He is tall, upright, and a good straight shooter. I’m sure Derek will love being able to get inside, slip the jab, hook over the top, emotionally, get to him in the latter stages of the fight, rounds eight to 11. Expect Derek to let one of the big hay makers go,” Joe Gallagher

“It’s not an easy style, but, but I don’t think when has Derek ever taken an easy fight. In all honesty, he is a war horse, and I’ll take my hat off to him. Do I feel like he should have walked away ages ago, Yeah. But who am I to tell someone what to do with a career?,” Jamie Moore
