Charlo Warned About Canelo, Stevenson Slams Loma, Logan Paul Wants McGregor

Jermell Charlo’s decision to face Canelo Alvarez at 168 pounds could put him in danger.
That is according to Roy Jones Jr. Charlo will jump up two-weight divisions in an attempt to become undisputed at super-middleweight after having achieved the same feat at 154 pounds.
Alvarez has been backed to win the fight. That is due to the huge weight difference, as Charlo will fight above 154 for the first time in his career.
However, Charlo’s athleticism may be impacted at a heavier weight. This is one of the star’s biggest assets. And that could ultimately backfire on the biggest stage.
Jones On Charlo
“To jump one weight class is good, but to jump two, it’s a little bit difficult. It’s more of a significant amount of weight. You don’t know how your body is going to react to that. That’s why guys usually go up a couple of pounds; add a couple of more pounds to see how their bodies are going to react.
“You’re going to take that 14 lb jump, and you’re going to see what happens. That’s dangerous because you don’t know how your body is going to react to 14 lbs more. Can you carry that for twelve rounds? Can you take a punch like that for twelve rounds,” Jones
Jones is well aware of the impact this can have, as he moved up to heavyweight to face John Ruiz in 2003.
Despite winning the world heavyweight title, Jones was never the same fighter when he moved back down to light heavyweight, as he racked up five-stoppage losses in the aftermath.
And unlike Canelo, Charlo has not moved up incrementally to a higher weight class which could prove detrimental during the latter parts of the fight. And that is something Charlo will have to be aware of.
Jones Questions Charlo
“When you think about it, Canelo did it the same way, but Canelo did it a little bit at a time. He went from a six lb jump; then he went to an eight lb jump, and then when he went a little higher when he got to 175 lbs, it didn’t work out too well for him. So, at what point does the weight start to affect you? If you don’t know. You definitely don’t know if you just jump up and see,” Jones
Stevenson Slams Loma
Meanwhile, Shakur Stevenson has responded to Vasiliy Lomachenko after the latter continued to remain quiet over his call outs.
Stevenson is the WBC interim champ at lightweight, while Devin Haney has been moved to a ‘champion in recess’ by the WBC as he moves up to 140 to potentially face Regis Prograis.
As such, Stevenson will potentially get ready to face the highest contender next for the right to win the belt: Loma.
Although that may be the case, Lomachenko was keen on making a rematch with Haney following the latter’s controversial unanimous-decision win over him.
But given that Haney is moving up, Stevenson foresaw a fight with Loma as a natural result.
Stevenson Wants Loma
“I think it’s a very strong possibility it does. Honestly, I don’t see nobody else for Lomachenko to fight. I honestly don’t see anybody for him to fight. Devin is not going to run it back with him. I just don’t see anybody getting in there with Lomachenko that would be a big fight for him to make the type of money he will make with me,” Stevenson
And now Stevenson has accused Loma of ducking him since there were no other big names in the division.
Man @VasylLomachenko I used to have a lot of respect for u but u just as scary as everybody else I see.. U rather retire then get in the ring wit me? 😂🦆

Logan Paul Wants McGregor
Outside of that, Logan Paul has called out Conor McGregor for a fight after his boxing bout with Dillon Danis.
Paul’s last fight was all the way back in 2021 following his exhibition bout with Floyd Mayweather.
Despite the fight not being an official one, the consensus was that Mayweather got the better of the star, despite his failure to stop him.
But now Paul will face Danis after the latter pulled out of a proposed fight with KSI.
And given that Danis will be making his boxing debut, coupled with the fact that he is McGregor’s stablemate, Logan targeted the ‘Notorious’ next.

Nevertheless, Logan will have some competition on his hands. His brother, Jake Paul, has also been linked with facing McGregor. There were reports of a reported $50 million offer in the past.
And yet, there is a chance that McGregor will look elsewhere, He has been linked with a Mayweather rematch. However, if the public demand it, then there is a chance that the fight gets made.
That is of course subject to a suitable offer being made for both sides. So either way, McGregor has plenty of people targeting him moving forward.
