Catterall Vs. Prograis Predictions – ‘He Is In The Form Of His Life’

Jack Catterall boxes Regis Prograis this weekend, as boxing insiders gave their predictions.
Catterall is coming off the best win of his career after having beaten Josh Taylor in his last fight via a unanimous decision. He avenged the controversial defeat he suffered against Taylor the first time around, where he came out second best in a split decision. The majority of the boxing community felt Catterall had done enough to win, but the scorecards prevented him from becoming the Undisputed Junior Welterweight Champion. The rematch with Taylor was not for any belts, but Catterall did manage to avenge that loss.
There was speculation that Catterall could have a trilogy with Taylor. But for now, the focus is Prograis, as a win will take him closer to a title shot. Prograis is coming off the second loss of his career after being beaten by Devin Haney last December. He suffered a unanimous decision defeat, losing every round as Haney took his WBC Junior Welterweight Title. Prograis hit out at Haney, criticizing him for imposing a rehydration clause in the contract. He also accused Haney of being a weight bully as he sought to bounce back from that major setback. Here is what the boxing insiders had to say.
Prograis Reacts
“It’s going to be a massive card, and I think it’s one of the best fights in the division, outside of a championship fight. So fair play to both. Another big card in the UK, tough fight for Jack Catterall, obviously…But Catterall is in the form of his life. No reason why he [Jack] can’t win the contest,” Eddie Hearn
“I’ve got Catterall beating Regis Prograis. I think he’s been at that level, and then I think he’s doing quite well. So he’s beaten Josh Taylor, so I think I’ve got Catterall winning by points,” Adam Azeem
“His brain and his IQ is so underrated. He’s very, very clever there, really. His judgment of his distance is fantastic. He’s got good feet and he reads a fight really, really well. I would, I would actually say that..I think Catterall is a slight favorite,” Dave Coldwell
Further Predictions
“I think Catterall wins. Yeah, at the minute, he’s just doing, he just does everything he needs to do…He’s winning fights, getting paid, so I think he beats Prograis comfortably,” Joe Cordina
“I think Catterall on a wide points decision. You can look and say Prograis is maybe sliding a little bit, but he’s still a dangerous fighter. He’s been one of the best in the world. So, you know, maybe he could turn up and show something he’s not done in his last few performances,” Dalton Smith
“Listen, my main concern is Jack winning. That’s the only thing he needs to do. Also, we have spoken about in the past about making sure we match with the right type of fighters. Hence the reason why he’s in with such a dangerous opponent as Regis, because Regis is going to come and try and take Jack’s head off and that they’re the type of fighters that I believe will bring out the best in Jack,” Jamie Moore
