Catterall And Prograis Size Each Other Up In Final Presser

Jack Catterall and Regis Prograis had their final press conference ahead of their junior welterweight clash this weekend.

The two fighters enter the bout with contrasting fortunes. Catterall is coming off the best win of his career after he avenged his loss against Josh Taylor, beating him in a unanimous decision. He lost the first fight in a controversial split decision, missing out on becoming the Undisputed Junior Welterweight Champion. Most of the boxing community felt that Catterall had been robbed of a win. Although he beat Taylor, unfortunately, it was for no belts, meaning the Prograis fight has more on the line.

A victory over the two-time junior welterweight champion will take him closer to securing a title shot. Prograis enters the fight with the second loss of his career. Prograis suffered a unanimous decision defeat against Devin Haney last December. He was dropped in the fight and lost every round as he looked far from the man who is considered one of the most dangerous punchers in the division. He later stated that his contract had a rehydration clause and argued that Haney had rehydrated to around 160 pounds. The two fighters know that the winner will be in a position to secure bigger fights as they had plenty to say.

Pre-Fight

“I’ve been fortunate that I’ve had a lot of southpaw sparring so I will be ready for him. I’ve followed his career last five or six years and I know what to expect from him and he’s a good fighter,” Catterall said

“Let people talk, I won’t let nobody tell me who I am, I’m gonna show you who I am. As long as I’m Regis, the person who got to the top twice already, as long as that person shows up, I’m fine and I feel like that person hasn’t been around for awhile. I feel l am getting back to my groove being me and what got me to the top in the first place. If that Regis shows up, it won’t be a hard night,” Regis said
