Canelo Fires Back At His Haters – ‘I’m Ready’
Canelo Alvarez is focused on the job following his recent outing at a golf course.
Alvarez will face Jermell Charlo on September 30th, 2023, in a battle of two undisputed champions.
Both fighters have started their training camps. However, Alvarez dropped a surprise when he was pictured on a golf course with Patrick Mahomes.
Naturally, the perception was that Canelo may be overlooking Charlo, who will be moving up two-weight classes to take on the Mexican.
But rather than this being the case, Canelo doubled down on his desire ahead of the fight.

“Let me tell you one thing. I don’t need to get ready because I’m always ready, mother f****er,” Canelo said
Despite Canelo being the heavy favorite, there is no denying that the Mexican is entering the latter parts of his career.
Alvarez turned professional at the age of 15 and has achieved everything in the sport since then. Being a four-division champion is no mean feat, which is why staying motivated will be a tough task.
Those sentiments have been raised by Jose Benavidez Sr. He questioned Canelo’s performances which have not been the same of late.
“I was thinking that Canelo would stop Ryder within four or five rounds, but I think he didn’t go for the stoppage, and Ryder escaped alive.
“People were not happy [in Guadalajara], they were expecting a stoppage, but as I have been saying, Canelo is in the final stage of his career,” Jose Benavidez Sr
And in Charlo, he is facing a man who believes in himself. And with Derrick James by his side, Jermell will be ready.
“I don’t believe in getting that heavy. I’ll say 63 or 64. I want him to be fast, I want him to be athletic, I want him to be mobile. The heavier you are it’s like you’ll be lethargic, slower. You have to be faster,” James
Ultimately, the only way for Canelo to silence the doubters is to put on a spectacular performance. So the question is can he do it?
