Canelo And Charlo Make Their Grand Arrivals

In today’s boxing news latest headlines, Canelo Alvarez and Jermell Charlo made their grand arrivals at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, ahead of their September 30th, 2023 fight. 

The pair arrived looking in full confidence in a fight that has been much anticipated. Alvarez defends all of his belts at 168 against Charlo, who is looking to cause a major upset and become undisputed in a second-weight class.

Alvarez’s last two fights have not been all that impressive since his loss to Dmitry Bivol. Unanimous decision wins against Gennady Golovkin and John Ryder have raised questions over his form.

After all, the Mexican suffered numerous blows, particularly against Ryder. Meanwhile, Charlo has not fought in over a year since his win over Brian Castano. 

The narrative heading into the fight is that Alvarez will be too powerful for Charlo, who will be carrying that extra weight. While that may be the case, both fighters were focused ahead of the fight and prepared for come what may.
