Bradley Slams Tank For Dodging Shakur - 'He's Scared'

Tim Bradley has slammed Gervonta Davis for avoiding a Shakur Stevenson fight.

Davis dropped some big news to his fanbase, saying he would retire next year as he planned to fight three times. The biggest fight that can be made in his weight class is against Stevenson, who is the WBC Lightweight Champion. However, Davis has given mixed comments about this fight. He initially stated that it would eventually happen. However, he recently has been talking down a Shakur fight by questioning his skills. He felt that Shakur was not on the same level and was also questioning what he had achieved in the sport.

“What has Shakur done? What has he done in the sport? The young one’s looking more better than him. Keyshawn (Davis) looking way more better,” Davis said

Davis Vs. Stevenson

This did not go down very well with the fanbase, especially since Shakur is a three-weight world champion, showing he can cut it at the elite level. He is also undefeated and has shown that he can come out with wins despite not being in his best form. After his press conference for his fight with Lamont Roach Jr., Davis revealed that he would not be making a fight with Stevenson. He also stated he did not care about belts, as his main focus was securing big paydays before leaving the sport. His aim is to focus on his real estate portfolio and his newborn son. That means there are other fights for him, which would be more appealing.

The primary one would be a Ryan Garcia rematch. They faced off last year in a fight that sold over 1.2 million PPVs. Davis reportedly raked in $50 million, showing how lucrative it was. And given that Tank has already secured a win over Garcia, that is the fight he would primarily be focusing on. There are also other possible big fights against Devin Haney and Teofimo Lopez, which could equally raise a significant amount of money.

Bradley Reacts

There is also the chance to face Vasiliy Lomachenko. Davis was in talks against Loma last year. However, the Ukrainian’s team confirmed that their fighter was not interested in that bout. That fight could also generate a significant amount of money, and it would perhaps be a bit easier since Lomachenko is no longer in his prime. However, Bradley lashed out at Tank by telling him to make the Shakur fight.

“The best fight at 135 is Tank & Shakur, but both of them are acting like some [bad boxers]…STRAIGHT UP! We need to know who the best is. Y’all 2 gotta handle business…next year! Stop being soft, stop… Make The Fight Happen,” Bradley said

“Whatever you want to say about Shakur, Tank is scared to step in the ring with him because if he wasn’t, he’d be trying to make that fight happen,” Bradley added

Regardless of Davis’ opponent, he confirmed that he would call out his next opponent after the Roach fight. That means it is vital that he beats Roach to avoid a rematch, given his intention to leave the sport next year with the most money.
