Boxing World Reacts To George Foreman's Passing - 'Legendary Boxing Champion'

George Foreman has passed away at the age of 76, as the boxing community reacts to the two-time heavyweight champion’s passing.

Foreman became known for the “The Rumble in the Jungle” against Muhammad Ali in 1974. That was the first loss of his career, as Ali stopped him in the eighth round. Foreman bounced back with a win against Joe Frazier in 1976, only to retire after suffering a loss to Jimmy Young. Foreman made a return 10 years later with a 12-fight win streak. However, he came up short to Evander Holyfield in 1991 via a unanimous decision.

Then, in 1994, Foreman beat Michael Moorer to become the WBA and IBF Heavyweight Champion of the world. That win made him the oldest heavyweight champion at 45, as he retired in 1997 with a 76-5 record. He was inducted into the boxing Hall of Fame in 2003. He also became a household name with his George Foreman Grill, selling over 100 million products. Foreman leaves behind his wife, Mary Joan Martelly, and their 12 children. The boxing world has come out to express their sadness at the news.
