BKFC Heavyweight Main Event Set to Thrill Crowd at Newcastle Walker Activity Dome

Stanoy Tabakov has found plenty of professional success in combat sports. It should be little surprise that the Bulgarian native decided to make the leap to the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship; he found life to be pretty good there. Tabakov’s debut fight only lasted 84 seconds.

He swiftly knocked out Petr Beranek during a heavyweight fight at BKFC 58 in Bulgaria. Now, Tabakov will face the challenge of trying to turn back debutant Paul Venis. Online boxing news shows Venis is making his debut after joining the organization from a kickboxing background.

Venis has fought over 30 times in K1 kickboxing matches. He is also a fighter who is active on social media. Venis wants to try to promote mental health and addiction awareness.

During his life, Venis has faced plenty of mental battles. He served three years in prison starting in 2012. Tabakov didn’t come from a strict boxing background, either. Tabakov started in MMA and was also heavily involved in combat sambo.

Before signing with the BKFC, Tabakov won five straight MMA fights. His success should continue in this match.

Bets to consider: Fight to end inside the distance, Under 1.5 rounds, Tabakov by KO.

Christie Seeks to Continue to Rehab Reputation

Danny Christie is the No. 2 light heavyweight contender in the BKFC. While the English fighter has had great success in the ring, he has also engaged in bad behavior that has tainted his reputation. But Christie, who shouted at the referee following his loss to Jared Warren last November, has already been on the path to recovery.

Christie bounced back this past April with his victory over David Round, which was a win in 98 seconds. Now, Christie will seek another win over Jimmy Millar, who is 1-0 in the BKFC. Millar has been away from the ring for over a year following his first fight.

Millar has been training vigorously over the past year and won’t want to waste this opportunity. However, Christie will be a stiff challenge for a fighter with significantly less experience. Boxing updates will show that this is a fight that Christie should win to try and earn a championship fight down the road.

Bets to consider: Christie by KO

Polish King Ready to Make Statement

Bartlomiej Krol accepted fighting, in some form or fashion, was a big part of life. While growing up in Poland, Krol said he witnessed many street fights. Being involved with those scraps and witnessing many more may have set the foundation for his future success.

Krol is 3-0 thus far in the BKFC and would like to cement his middleweight contender status during a co-main event with Pic Jardine. Jardine was 3-3 as an amateur MMA fighter but has yet to dip his toe in the bare-knuckle boxing arena.

Jardine won his last MMA fight via ground-and-pound, which isn’t part of the BKFC’s program. Krol will look to take advantage of Jardine’s inexperience and pick up a win in this fight.

Bets to consider: Krol moneyline

Ferguson Wants Success in Hometown

John Ferguson would like to turn things around in his bare-knuckle boxing career. During his last fight, Ferguson struggled to keep up with Danny Mitchell in Leeds. Ferguson has proven to be a man of many interests.

In addition to fighting, Ferguson likes to collect rare coins that he goes looking for in the countryside. Ferguson hopes to add another win to his collection of victories in the ring when he takes on Danny Moir.

Moir is a fellow British boxer. What Moir’s approach lends itself to is a lot of decisions. While many fighters in the BKFC prefer to go for the flashier knockouts, Moir may prefer to try and push the pace and see if the judges are impressed with the outcome.

Bets to consider: Fight to go the distance

Kanabey Ready to Be Rude Host

Bartek Kanabey built a strong reputation during his time at the BKFC. The “Polish Plough” has won championships in other promotions and would like to add one in Bare Knuckle. Kanabey prefers to put on high-volume fights and would like to try to drag his opponent into a brawl.

Kanabey will have a difficult challenge when he takes on debutant Jack Culshaw. Culshaw has plenty of fight experience, but it is mostly at the amateur level. Culshaw now has one benefit: he trains with fellow BKFC fighters like Venis and Jardine.

How well will all those guys train together and show themselves in the ring this weekend? If Culshaw can learn from other people in the sport, he should have a good opportunity to win fights.

Bets to consider: Culshaw moneyline

Hardy and Creighton Ready for Their Close-Up

Making his debut in the BKFC may be the transition that Cameron Hardy’s career needs. The British fighter put together a 6-4 record while fighting in MMA. Many of Hardy’s wins came via knockouts or technical knockouts.

Hardy hoped that his MMA power would translate to boxing. For Hardy’s maiden voyage with the promotion, he will be fighting another former MMA fighter. Bryan Creighton, who is also an Army veteran, had a 10-9 record while he was fighting in MMA.

However, MMAfighting latest news shows that Creighton was trying to find a place where he was better suited to compete. When Creighton landed with the Hard Hitters Gym, he ended up in an environment that helped pump out a lot of bare-knuckle fighting talent.

Bets to consider: Hardy by knockout.

Here’s a look at the other fights on the card not mentioned above:

  • Cruiserweight, Stevie Taylor vs Jakub Kosicki
  • Bantamweight, Bradley Taylor vs Dan Mohammed
  • Heavyweight, Gary Slator vs Rob Cunningham
  • Welterweight, Will Rochester vs Luke Beamish
  • Welterweight, Ryan Sanson vs Jeremy Waltron
