Bivol’s Ex-Wife Celebrates His Loss – ‘Karma, You Idiot’

Dmitry Bivol’s ex-wife, Ekaterina Bivol, has been criticized for her response to his loss to Artur Beterbiev.
Bivol came second best via a majority decision, as Beterbiev became the Undisputed Light Heavyweight Champion. However, many in the boxing community felt that Bivol had done enough to win. Bivol did not offer excuses, but Eddie Hearn did not hold back on his disdain for the scorecards. He hit out at the 116-112 scorecard, which stated Bivol only won four rounds.
“You heard Beterbiev’s corner in the 10th round say ‘you have to knock him out to win this fight’. They stood, backed up to their corner – they knew Artur Beterbiev lost this fight. Top Rank [Bivol’s promoters] knew Artur Beterbiev lost this fight. “I’m absolutely baffled and disgusted by a scorecard of 116-112. That judge should never work again. Four rounds [to Bivol] in a fight of this magnitude is disgusting,” Hearn stated
Ekaterina Reacts
There is a narrative in place for a rematch. But Bivol’s ex took out her frustration by revelling in the victory. Before the fight, she disclosed Bivol’s injury history to Beterbiev. She had become unhappy with the boxer after reports that Bivol had domestically abused her. There were also suggestions that she wanted more child support than the $1100 a month she was getting from him. Ekaterina will take it to court, but in the meantime, she celebrated Beterbiev’s win. The following video shows her celebrating and thanking Beterbiev for the win.
“Artur, Artur, yes! God, God thank you. Artur, I congratulate you. Because karma reached Bivol. You deserved it, idiot. Did you get scared?,” Ekaterina
What’s Next For Bivol
Nevertheless, Bivol must decide his next steps carefully. He can run things back with Beterbiev to avenge the loss. He showed enough in the fight that he could compete. He took Beterbiev to the distance for the first time in his career. He also hit back at Beterbiev in the exchanges and earned his respect. After having gone a full 12 rounds, he knows what it takes. There is also the chance to have a tune up before having the Beterbiev fight.
There are other fights in the division, such as those between Anthony Yarde and Callum Smith. The two fighters have been in the ring with Beterbiev, offering Bivol a chance to face good-level opposition.
The danger of taking the rematch is that Bivol loses again. That would damage his stock and confirm that he is not the best of his era. While he has beaten Canelo Alvarez, the Mexican is not a 175-pounder. But the danger of not taking the rematch is that Beterbiev vacates his belts. That means that Bivol would have to face more fighters to get a chance of winning all the belts. At 33, he may not have too many years left at the top of the sport to do it. But he could get a rematch.
