Bivol Will Return In November – Says Eddie Hearn

Dmitry Bivol is targeting a return to the ring in November.
That is according to Eddie Hearn. Following Bivol’s win over Zurdo Ramirez, there were question marks over his next steps moving forward.
He had been linked with a rematch with Canelo Alvarez, despite beating the Mexican so comprehensively in their encounter at 175.
However, disagreements emerged over the terms of the rematch which were not resolved. Bivol desired to fight at 168 pounds in an attempt to reclaim all of Canelo’s belts at super middleweight.
Meanwhile, Canelo wanted to run things back at 175 and avenge his loss on the same terms. In addition, a fight with Artur Beterbiev failed to come into fruition.
This was due to the WBC’s ban on Russian fighters fighting for their belts. And it came in response to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
But for all of the problems in getting the fights, it appeared that Bivol’s time away from the ring had been impacted by an injury. And now it seems that he is close to making a return.
Bivol’s Return
“He’s been injured for a while now. Some people think he’s just decided not to fight since last November, but he has been injured. I think around October time or November. He wants the winner of Callum Smith against Beterbiev. I think if we can get him out in November,” Hearn said
Bivol’s Next Steps
The news of a potential undisputed fight would be what the fans were hoping for. Both fighters are undefeated, with contrasting styles that would throw up an intriguing match-up.
Bivol is known for being an acute and shrewd boxer, despite being a big 175-pounder. Meanwhile, Beterbiev possesses a 100 percent knockout rate, with 19 wins and 19 KOs.
And in a fight where both elite boxers would be looking to implement their game plan, surely something would have to give. And that is why the fight is such a close match-up.
But whether the fight does end up getting made is anyone’s guess. Time will tell. You can stay up-to-date with the latest happenings in the world of boxing by visiting boxingblitz right here.
