Bisping Blasts Vitor Belfort Over Prior Failed Test – ‘A Brazilian Steroid Machine’

Michael Bisping has attacked his former opponent, Vitor Belfort, calling him the worst person in MMA.
Bisping’s comments came during an appearance with Carl Froch on the latter’s podcast, as he slammed Belfort’s history of PEDs. Bisping faced Beltort, coming up short in their clash as he was knocked out. The defeat was the least of his concerns, as the fight left Bisping with permanent eye damage. A year after they had fought, Belfort failed a test for elevated levels of testosterone.
“The results of the February 7, 2014 test indicated that my testosterone level was above therapeutic range. White levels slightly outside the normal therapeutic range are not uncommon for some undergoing a TRT regimen, and my doctors immediately modified my therapy to return me to within the therapeutic range (as you can see the 22nd February test results was normal), I do want to acknowledge that the February 7, 2014 test indicated my level was above the range. I further welcome any additional testing that the NSAC deems appropriate and necessary with respect to being granted the privilege of a license to fight here in the State of Nevada,” Belfort stated
Bisping Reacts
That is something that has stayed with Bisping to this day, as his following and prior comments show that.
“Oh, Vitor Belfort. A Brazilian steroid machine. You know, one of the biggest cheats in all the sport. I’ve never taken a steroid in my life. If you’re gonna step into a cage or a ring with a human being, it’s supposed to be about who is the better-skilled guy? Who is the better fighter? Who is willing to train their a— off? He was on every steroid under the sun,” Bisping said
“All of a sudden, I could hardly see out of the eye and that was very disturbing and troubling. I had to pull out of that fight and start the process right from the beginning again. “It’s not a risk at all [for me to fight]. If it was, listen. I love being in the UFC. I’ve got three children and I’m only in my 30s. I don’t want to lose my eyesight,” Bisping revealed
Belfort has been criticised for his use of Testosterone Replacement Therapy. The usage was deemed lawful because of the athletic commissions allowing TUE’s. However, that ended when the Nevada Athletic Commission passed a unanimous vote. Belfort is no longer on it, while he has also claimed that he is now better than ever.
“It was better for me (to stop using TRT) because I left a boring treatment that was bothering me, and now I’m stronger, lighter and faster. So, for me, it was wonderful. Doesn’t matter what my blood says nor the result of the blood test. What matters is what is in my head,” Belfort stated
