Beterbiev And Bivol’s Grand Arrivals – ‘People Have Been Waiting For This’

Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol had their Grand Arrivals ahead of their Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship fight on October 12.
Beterbiev defends his WBO, WBC and IBF belts with the aim of picking up Bivol’s WBA Title. Beterbiev is undefeated with a 20-0 record, with all his wins coming by knockout. He stopped Callum Smith in his last fight to retain his titles. He was initially meant to fight Bivol in June, but he pulled out with a knee injury, as question marks remain over whether the 39-year-old will be in peak condition. This is especially true since he had already pulled out before he boxed Smith and beat him.
Bivol is also undefeated, with a 23-0 record. But unlike Beterbiev, he is known for taking fights to the distance. He did stop Malik Zinad in his last fight within the sixth round to retain his WBA belt. His biggest win so far has been against Canelo Alvarez in 2022. But Canelo was moving up from 168 pounds. Bivol is now facing arguably one of the greatest ever light heavyweights. Both fighters were confident of their chances as they made their Grand Arrivals with plenty to say.
Arrivals
“Yes, I’m good. My knee is good, too. Maybe I’m not thinking about it, but now it’s going to happen, I hope/ We’ll see on October 12th. I just need to be my best version. I just need to do my work and be focused all the seconds and use all my skills 100%,” Beterbiev
“This is a dream fight for all fighters, and I’m so glad that I have this chance because a lot of great fighters didn’t get this chance. I got it. I was waiting, and I was working hard. Now I have to work in the ring,. I don’t care about 50-50, 60-40. It’s just numbers. I’m only focused on my task in the ring. We will see undisputed fight. Of course, people have been waiting for this fight for many years. It’s two different styles, two undefeated boxers. I’m waiting for this great fight,” Bivol said
Pros View
“Beterbiev is technically better than what people think. So I think he’s technically actually quite good, and he’s got a 100% knockout ratio, so he has to use that. And then Bivol is technically even better than what we think as well. We all think he’s technically good, but it’s technically probably better than we think, and he’s got to use what he uses, and his movement and everything. But it’ll be interesting…So it would be a good mix,” Joshua Buatsi
“He will be the same Beterbiev. I guarantee that. He’s different from everyone else,…Everyone that I’ve been living with is just, he’s just built differently. And yeah, I know he has an amazing team around him as well. You know, Mark Ramsey is the head coach, and the other boxing coaches..They [have covered] all the bases. He’s got the best,” Callum Simpson
“Can’t wait for that one man, that’s going to be a fight that’s hard to pick the winner. I lean towards Bivol by decision. I just think he’s got that style that he’s not going to allow Beterbiev to step in and get close, I don’t know. But also, I wouldn’t be surprised if Beterbiev steps in and hurts him and knocks him out ’cause that guy has so much power he can knock anybody out, but I lean to Bivol by decision,” Robert Garcia
