Benn Can’t See Eubank Jr. Beating Smith

Conor Benn has revealed that he cannot see Chris Eubank Jr. getting past Liam Smith in their rematch.
The duo will face each other on September 2nd, 2023, as Eubank aims to get his revenge after suffering a fourth-round stoppage in the first fight.
Prior to fighting Smith, however, Eubank had been on course to facing Benn. That did not go to plan as the latter failed two tests for clomiphene.
Therefore, the fight was pulled as the British Boxing Board of Control refused to sanction the fight.
Although a win for Eubank may aid the chances of a potential Benn fight if the latter can prove his innocence, Conor did not see Eubank changing the outcome of the first fight.
Benn On Eubank-Smith
“I haven’t seen no hype around it or build up or anything. But I can’t see Eubank getting past Smith. As much as I love Eubank to win, of course, as we’ve got our own feud that we need to settle, but the damage that has been done is done. And you know it’s only going one way,” Benn
Despite this being the case, Benn is open to facing Eubank later down the line. This is provided that there is enough public demand to make the fight happen.
Although there is a strong history between the fighters’ respective fathers, the fact of the matter is that the current reaction to this fight will depend on how well Eubank does against Smith.
Benn On Smith
“Listen, if the public want it, the public can get it. All this talk about me shying away from fighters, listen I’m willing to go up to 160 to fight this man. So, what more can you want from a fighter willing to go up to 160 to entertain the fans. My natural weight is 147. Listen, if the public want it, the public can get it. That’s it. If it’s in demand I will give it to the public. If they want it, they can have it,” Benn
