Benavidez Speaks Out About Facing Andrade – ‘I’m Just Too Strong’
David Benavidez has spoken about his chances of beating Demetrius Andrade.
According to reports, the two fighters are currently in talks for a bout in November in what would be a tale of two undefeated fighters.
Benavidez is the current WBC interim champion at super middleweight. He had been linked with a fight with Canelo Alvarez.
However, the latter responded by facing Jermell Charlo on September 30th, 2023, instead. However, Andrade will be a credible opponent.
He is a former two-weight world champion, who is known for being a slick boxer. Although that may be the case, David felt that his size would be too much for Andrade.

“I feel like he’s the same type of fighter. I feel like I’m just too strong. Once we get to the middle rounds I took over and I see the same thing happening in this fight,” Benavidez
This was most notably seen during Benavidez’s fight with Caleb Plant. The latter was performing well by boxing and moving during the first six rounds.
However, the ‘Mexican Monster’ caught up with Plant as he dominated in the latter part of the fight to get the win. Not only that, but Benavidez is naturally a big 168-pounder.
He has confirmed that he will eventually move up to light heavyweight at some point, suggesting that Andrade will face a big Benavidez once he hydrates after making weight.
That will naturally work against him, as Benavidez’s power has been talked up to the point where he believes he could knockout Dmitry Bivol at 175.

“I definitely want to go up to 175. I know I can win a belt at 175, because of the sparring. I know a lot of people saw the video of me saying I’d knock Bivol out. I mean, I would. I’m not going to lie. Every professional boxer at this level should have that much confidence in themselves. I’m not lying about anything. I sparred him at Churchill Boxing. There were a lot of people there. They seen what happened there,” Benavidez
