Belal Muhammad put his UFC Welterweight Title on the line against Jack Della Maddalena on May 10 at UFC 315, as MMA insiders gave their predictions.
The card will take place from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, as Belal makes his first defense of the belt. Belal enters the bout with a unanimous decision victory against Leon Edwards at UFC 304 last year to win the belt. Muhammad has been linked with a move up from welterweight amid links with a fight against the UFC Middleweight Champion Dricus Du Plessis. Meanwhile, Jack is on an impressive run of form. He is undefeated with a 7-0 record, as he defeated Gilbert Burns in his previous bout. He got a shot against Belal when Shavkat Rakhmonov could not take the fight due to an injury. But I believe one of his deficiencies is covering distance—I mean closing the distance and closing the range. So I believe if Belal keeps a good distance in between and makes him actually have to work to get to him, it’ll make it easier for him to get off on what he likes to do, which is make people work and put them in that blender, work with punches and then grapple,” Jamahal Hill
