Aspinall Could Pursue WWE After UFC Career – ‘I Really Enjoyed It’
Tom Aspinall has said he could pursue WWE after his UFC career.
Aspinall is one of the leading heavyweights in MMA. He is the current UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion. He is coming off a successful win against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304, which avenged the only defeat of his UFC career. That has put him in a position to face the winner of Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic, who fight at UFC 309 on November 16. Aspinall is a step closer to fighting for the world title. However, there is speculation that Jones will retire after that fight.
Dana White had already said it would be Miocic’s last performance. If that did happen, the belt would become vacant, with Aspinall being one of the leading names to fight for it. Aspinall’s combat sports career has been varied. He has had one professional boxing fight in 2017 when he beat Tamas Bajzath. He has also sparred with the former WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury. The Gypsy King was very complimentary of Tom’s boxing, showing that he has a variety of skills.

But he has now also stated that he is open to going into WWE. He was recently spotted at a WWE house show in Manchester. The following video shows Aspinall with Cody Rhodes, as Tom shows off his interim belt. While he did appear in person, Tom did not do any action in the actual WWE ring. But based on the crowd and the atmosphere, he enjoyed every part of it.
“But WWE is something new and exciting for me as well. I really enjoyed it, it’s a buzz. It’s another way to get out there in front of an audience and do something not quite as dangerous, but still get that thrill. I don’t know, I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. I’ve still got a lot that I want to do in my MMA career. I’m not saying I want to hang up the gloves just yet, but I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t enjoy that. I enjoyed the whole thing,” Tom said
Aspinall is also open to doing punditry work. There are numerous UFC fighters who have done this, either with the UFC or through their independent YouTube channels. Aspinall already has his YouTube channel, which showcases his preparation for his upcoming fights. But he could also join the likes of Michael Bisping and Daniel Cormier, who are just a few names who provide regular insights into UFC fights.
Aspinall On Media
Aspinall is an elite-level fighter, having faced the top names, showing that he would have a lot of knowledge to give back to MMA fans. While that may be the case, his primary focus is on being at the best of his game. But given the number of former fighters who struggle with mental health due to a drastic career change once they hang up their UFC gloves, Aspinall appears to have outlined his life once he retires.
“Absolutely mate. That’s what I want to do in my post-fighting career. I’ve got my show on TNT Sports now, so I like the punditry side as well. I’m very passionate about MMA, it’s been in my life for as long as I can remember. I like to think that I know more about MMA than most, and I can offer some kind of knowledge and breakdown to people who don’t understand MMA as well as I do,” Tom stated
