Andrade Accuses Charlo Of Ducking Him, Ngannou Beating Fury Would Be ‘The Biggest Upset’

In some recent boxing news, Demetrius Andrade has accused Jermell Charlo of ducking him in 2019.

Andrade is a two-weight world champion as reports indicate that he could be set to face David Benavidez for the WBC super middleweight belt. Although that may be the case, Andrade admitted that he was a fighter that was often avoided.

Fights with Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin failed to get made as the boxer is now 35. And given that he is undefeated, Andrade stressed that Charlo was one of those who ducked him. Andrade recalled how Eddie Hearn had made an offer to Charlo, which was ultimately ignored as a fight never took place.

Andrade On Charlo

“Definitely for sure [he ducked]. Because the money was greater, the viewership was gonna be greater. I think it was the perfect time for it to happen,” Adrade said

Nevertheless, there could have been other reasons for the breakdown in the fight. Andrade was with Matchroom and DAZN, while Charlo was with the PBC. Both networks have historically found it difficult to get fights made, and yet, Andrade dismissed that this was the problem.

“My contract with DAZN, I had a third party agreement where I can go and do some shopping. If you can match it from Matchroom then cool. If not, I can go make way,” Andrade

Either way, Andrade and Charlo have huge fights coming up. And if both of them get wins, then they could face each other at 168.

Tyson On Ngannou

Meanwhile, a Francis Ngannou win over Tyson Fury would be the biggest shock in sports history.

That is according to Mike Tyson. The former will be in the corner for Ngannou as the ex-UFC heavyweight champion makes his boxing debut against Tyson Fury.

Ngannou is a huge underdog, which is understandable since Fury is the WBC heavyweight champion of the world. Although that may be the case, Mike has not ruled out an upset.

After all, Buster Douglas managed to upset the apple cart by stopping Tyson. With that being said, this is what Tyson had to say.

“It would be the biggest upset in the history of entertainment. I think I bring him the confidence that this can be accomplished… We’re different people, we have different styles,” Mike Tyson said. “He’s gonna box like Francis and he’s gonna do well… He’s fighting, he’s been champion, he’s fought before, e’s got the experience of the pressure of getting into the ring. He just has to learn how to box more,” Tyson

In reality, however, Douglas was a boxer unlike Ngannou. Meanwhile, MMA fighters have come up short when they have crossed over into the boxing world.

Both Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz failed to get wins when they faced Floyd Mayweather and Jake Paul respectively. And yet, Tyson did see Ngannou causing Fury some problems. He highlighted how Ngannoyu’s frame could pose physical problems for Fury.

“I don’t think he’s going to be able to rest with him. Francis is a lot stronger than him, I think he’s gonna push him around. And I’m just looking forward to the sound of the first bell. I’m excited,” Tyson
